Adopt a newbie todaayy!!!

OOh got a good one!! Wanted to build a 60/40 berg. Got a Downtown Delrin Hero 4.0, clocked some new axles and bought a Crawler Design Works behind the axle steering kit. CDW steering moves upper link mount back about 15mm or so. Since the 60/40 already has shorter front links, my front uppers will end up being about 86mm (DDW are usually 101mm)eye to eye. Seems really short! Think it will work?? Think it will limit articulation? Any help would be awesome!

Great thread, thank you!

I've always wondered, what is a "pede" transmission?

Shouldnt, just use the very back hole on the chassis to mount the links to. You should be fine, my old Mantis ran links that were about an inch and a half long

Thanks Colby, I'll give you a full report when my bec comes in! Going to do a compare thread my Reign wide mouth berg vs. downtown delrin 60/40. both twin fxr's. Just going to swap wheels/tires from rig to rig (to level the playing field) and try the same climbs/sidehills/gaps/possible and impossible lines. I'll post a link in a few weeks.

At a bit of a standstill with this berg... You know of anyone who makes delrin lower dogleg (not rod but cut from sheet) links?? Need a set and Kamakaze's aren't the right size and I can't get ahold of The Real Dogman!

do you need longer? or shorter? Kamikaze makes those medium links that are just a bit shorter. "thumbsup"

the kamakaze's links can always be trimmed if they run too long

i thought this was about noobs, not parts etc

What else would it be about?

A noob asks a question, and I answer it... thats what i said in my first post, this thread has 1 meaning and 1 meaning only. Helping noobs. If you want to post up and ask what setup for your tmaxx, hell i would prob try to find that answer too

CTK! Any advice for my first comp this weekend??

You know what man, just go in there with your head up and your rig 100% and you will do fine. Dont let anyone intimidate you with the way they are hittin the courses. Maybe ask to work the timer for a while on all the courses, and watch very closely at what the other drivers are doing on the courses. The main thing if your new, is to get a few examples of what to do/what not to do from a few people, and you should be good. Remember to also ask for time frequently so you know how your doing. Also, progress helps you more than you think, so if you think you cannot make a gate, go ahead and take a 20 for that gate and keep rollin to the finish. Hope all goes well for ya this weekend bud! "thumbsup"

What is a dig, and when would I need one? I have an SCX10 with a novak super sport brushless in it, geared to 93spur and 12pinion. Do you know of any good sites for scale rc? Id like to build the truck into something that resembles a 1:1. Thank you!
