Aggressive driver?

and how about idiot drivers during the night who leave there highbeams on when you pass them or just drive by in opposite direction. if you hate this too just get a set of bright lights installed if you own a truck because if you flash them they will never forget to turn there beams off again.

for the flashing i suggest LIGHT-FORCE pricey but worth it if you drive alot at night

I think when you slam on your brakes or blind someone at night, traveling at high speeds... you should understand that you may be responsible for killing that person and other "innocent" people on the road.

How would you feel if they actually did crash into another car or went off the road and ran over a kid playing in his yard. How would you feel if someone did that to your wife, mother or child?

Never said you were a horrible driver. And i wasn't "hating". Just saying 6 months isn't alot of experience and 10 feet is a little close.
I know, but JermeyH, said i should learn a little from speed, which in my mind refered to "horrible driver".

Yes, i do agree, 6 months is not a lot of experience, however, i have come up with crazy situations already, during those first 6 months.

I dont want to kill anyone lol. But as soon as their poor driving habits put my passengers, myself, or other innocent driver at risk, I think it's fair game.

I don't get how they put your life at risk. Your the one that tried to make her crash into you putting everyone's lives at risk. So its your poor driving skills putting you, your passengers, and other innocent drivers at risk. Not to mention that there could have been a little kid in that car. Personally I don't like tailgaters just as much as the next Guy but I wouldn't intentionally try to injury someone for doing it.

I'd say don't listen to anyone. Everyone on here including myself has good driving habits and bad driving habits. Some people speed but think its terrible to tailgate. Next Guy sets cruise to the exact speed limit and sits in the fast lane. No one is perfect so do what you feel is safe for you and Fu@k what everyone else thinks. Just my opinion.

Bob and Chris, do you guys seriously hate tailgaters to the point that you'd feel ok killing them?

well lets see????? nope....if there that stupid to drive within 5 feet of some bodys bumper to where they really can't see past the car in front of them when that car might need to lock them up to avoid oh say a lil child that aimlessly wondered into the roadway....tell us how many cars you know that can stop the weight of two cars with the brake system of one car???????????....i gave her more warning then she needed to get the message or go around me in the 3 to 4 mile stretch of passing lane, but decided to stay 3 feet off my bumper....even if she had her kid in the car, well she don't give a crap bout herself or them anyway....the section of road was not busy at the time with no other cars in sight....no i'm not making excuses, but stay off peoples bumpers when you have been giving way more then eough warning and chance to pass in a passing zone 3 miles long???????????....it happens again in the same situation guess what, you really can fix stupid :flipoff: ..........bob

Times are hard and gas isn't cheap. Maybe she was drafting you to save gas. Jk man. You guys take this to serious. How many times has a tailgater ran into you anyway.

stay off peoples bumpers :flipoff: ..........bob

Now this, I can agree to.

But the rest of it, come on man?
I've definitely played the break light game with tailgaters...

Try this version :flipoff:
GENTLY apply the brakes just enough to trip the brake lights while accelerating. You don't even have to accelerate that much. When the red lights go on, tailgaters react. They slow down, you create a gap... they usually get the hint and no fiery crashes. It's win win "thumbsup"

please re-read where i said i gave the idiot all the warning i could before i did that  ....besides if/when the cops got there and asked how it happened....i'll say "i went to slow down for a dog crossing the road and "BAMM" out of nowhere i get hit from behind trying to not hit the dog" ;-) .......bob

during the day all you've gotta do is turn on your lights, it'll light up your tail lights and they'll slow down unless they are total assholes

That's what do, don't need to press very hard and the lights come on.

Besides, if the lady was in that much of a hurry, why didn't you just pull over and let her go by, or were you too "macho" to do that and show her your superior driving skills...

LOL!!! Im the last person to ask but since you did here is my take...I assume your talking driving on the highway???Everything you described in my opinion is being aggressive, ie in and out of traffic add speed to the mix and fail to signal one time will land you with reckless driving here...

However I myself am an extremely aggressive (when im on my sport bike)

Since this thread like others are getting out of hand let's get back on track....
But my question is this: how is this aggressive? Like I said I give plenty of room between cars, I'm always planning my next move and all that, I use my turn signal religiously lol there has never been a time when someone had to slow down or put on their brakes because I went in front of them, nor have I ever had to do the same because of a car in front of me.
I'm not trying to defend against myself its just I think aggressive is the wrong term for this, I see aggressive as someone who WILL jump between cars that are only a car and a half length apart, causing others to put on the brake or them having to slam on the brakes because they got behind a car and are only feet away from the other car.

Can someone really define what an "aggressive driver" is? There seems to be multiple views of it. Changing lanes constantly (w/ or w/o signals), speeding, tailgating etc.. What is it mean to actually be an Aggressive driver?

i kind of get an Aggressive driver, as someone who Constantly changes lanes without signals, Speeding way over the limit, Flipping people off, Having anger sessions and yelling their sacks off behind the wheel, honking the horn like an idiot and just cutting off people.

BTW, i kind of agree, that California has a really idiotic driving rate. When i visited Arizona over the summer, i found that people over there are very peaceful and calm, rather than californians, who generally like to shove their horn up your be-hind, and have tantrum attacks like a 1 year old. Then generally, i find people who drive BMW's are total pricks, and like to be stuck up no matter the age.

That's the difference between a porcupine and a BMW, the pricks are on the inside "thumbsup"

What I label as an aggressive driver is somebody cutting through traffic like it's their own personal race track with disregard for others safety, constantly tailgating, going well over the speed limit (I admit I go 5 or 10km/h over, but doing so keeps me with the pace of traffic instead of having somebody on my ass the entire time). There's no way you're going to get away from aggressive drivers, they're everywhere, the key is not to become one yourself and don't let them get to you. Also, remember that driving is a privilege, not a right, but those drivers seem to forget that.

and that's what I'm trying to figure out because everyone says or thinks disregard for others safety. I do regard others safety and check and re check to make sure that every move I make is a safe one....

drivers around here suck something awful..
our roads are narrow and windy and theres not any places to pass, so you get alot of people going way under the speed limit with like 30-40 cars behind them. they are some how oblivious to the fact that theyre going so slow and have a huge line of cars behind them and wont pull over.

makes me mad.

i may have to label you as an aggressive driver. im sorry. Sure a car may be going slow in narrow windy roads, and it seems like you live in the mountain side, so i would say the person holding you back is only saving your life. Speeding in the hills, especially when it is narrow and windy, is very dangerous, and your car could easily loose traction or roll over, if you had too much speed. Not to mention, wildlife could easily go into the road

Also, who knows, maybe the person who is driving slow has a child or baby in the car? Maybe its one of their first times driving in the mountains?

Well, when i drive in the mountains, if there is a sports car or fast car right behind me, i immediately get off to a spot that allows me to get off the road in order to let them pass. Call me a chicken, but i HATE going near the limit in mountain roads, since some people tend to lean into your lane because their scared of the cliff, or the rock wall. And just the fear of loosing grip on a corner freaks me out, so i tend to keep 5mphs under the limit in windy, narrow mtn roads... Im sorry, but i dont want to loose control and die.

i agree 5mph under may seem safe to you but think of the other people who are in a hurry and want to drive 5mph over, there considered aggresive. but they both are just as dangerous, by causing people to pass eachother on twisty roads.
road conditions are the only reason to drive slower than speed limit.
as speed limits are obviosly reccomended they have taken into consideration angle of road, weight, and CoG so even semi trucks, Rwd cars can maintain speed limit for cornering in perfect cond.
if we all drove the same speed there wouldnt be tailgaters.
