Ok ,now my cheepo mistery lipo is dead and i am looking for a good quality 3S pack.
My motor is Hyperion Z3025-10 and i have the possibility of 18/1 final ratio on a 12 pound rig. So i will draw the maximum amp available...

The only info i found on this motor is "use 50amp min ESC"

Does that mean this motor can NOT draw more than 50amp at 11.1V ?

A battery pack rated for 50Amp continous is good for me ?

Thanks

I use a lot of Hyperion motors in my planes. If the suggested esc for the motor is a 50 Amp unit then the motor shouldn't see more than that. It was designed to run at the most maybe 50 amps but it more than likely is more efficient at say around a mid to low 40 amp range. If you gear it wrong and you run it over that 50 amp point you'll wreck the windings or the magnets in the motor. It was designed to be used in heli's so it should work well in a crawler. I would look at using a pack such as our 2100 3S or the 25C 2200 3S they should work well if you have the room for a li-po that size. Otherwise look at an 8 cell NimH saddle pack.

That motor is an amp hog. At 18:1 ratio you will not be crawling, and even on low voltage you could see spikes over 100 amps. You need more geardown, and I would recommend a pack with at least 60 amps continuous for a 12lb rig.

50a is just a recommended rating from the manufacturer. It has nothing to do with how it performs in a crawler.

What ESC have you selected? If you are really looking for a fast vehicle get an overkill battery. 4000mah of 20C lipo would not be overkill enough IMO.

Mamba max...I don't have room for more than 60amp pack. I will try to keep my gears to a maximum of 32/1. (Can't drive slower than that in deep snow) What do you think about lowering the timing on the Mambamax ?

The pack fit on the skid plate. If i have problem in the futur i would have to clock back the motor to make more room .

You will need to put the pack in warm for snow running most likely. Lowest timing on the mamba max would be good, outrunners generally don't need high advance.
