I bought this 84 4runner last fall for a bit of a project. So far I've only replaced the wheels and tires but it will also be getting new upgrades. I wanted to keep the look and patina so mods will be with the drive train and suspension, none the less Its fun to drive.
I decided I wanted to make a bit of a scale version of it so a couple of weeks ago I got to work. It is not going to be totally scale and wont' try to do the patina on the body but it will have the same general look.

I started a couple of weeks ago on prepping parts from the RC4WD kit. Made a visor out of wood similar to the process on my other 84. Modified the grill and getting bits and pieces sanded and painted.

Just now saw this and I'm really envious of the full size! Looking fwd to seeing how the scale version comes out. Looks like you're well on your way to success.

Thanks. Pretty much wrapping it up. Still need to finish the interior and waiting on bumper, shocks and other bits and pieces.

Great job! The 4Runner is beautiful! I like how the scale tires look on there, but them Swampers look awesome and give it more of an aggressive look.

Subscribed and can't wait to see how the interior turns out.

Rims are a bit wide for the smaller tires, looks awesome on the Swampers, last pic almost can't tell it's the 1:1 or your rc! :)

Looks great. Good job. Another Toyota is always welcome here.

这车真的好棒,好仿真啊

Thanks everyone for the comments, really appreciate it!
Haven't made much progress lately, between trying to get the full size back together and everything else in life....
I did get my rear bumper and got my other two wheels done. Scale engine coming soon and other stuff. Looking forward to this. "thumbsup"

Also just got the full size back together with new 4.88 gears and tru trac lockers, rebuilt tranny, all new seals. Pulling hard with a tune up on the weber and new gears.

Haven't done too much with this project lately. Finished up the wheels and hardware and put new stompers on it and added just a bit more lift. Although I usually prefer scale hubs I like the cleaner look with the center caps. Painted the header aluminum too.

Now that's sweet! I love these bodies, I rolled mine the other day testing it out and freaked out, it's all good though first scratch is done so now it'll get ran.
