any crawlers in MN?

I talked to Jason, the owner of Hutchinson Extreme hobby today. He's excited about our group coming out this Sun for the demo at their swap meet. He thinks we'll draw alot of interest from the guys in the Hutch rc club. They have only some dirt hills and a few rocks, looks like I'll have to bring a few rocks from home to set up a course.
Anyone willing and able to go out for the demo is more then welcome.
I think it's a good opportunity to promote our club. We could use some more active members, since a few have dropped off the radar.

What is the location of the comp this Sat? I checked post 646 and couldn't find it. It could be rite in front of my face, but I dont see it:?:

Also I posted the Mn web site up on a MN car forum (www.mnsportcompacts.net) and mentioned the comp. Theres some interest, some guys have crawlers and have not yet heard of the MN club:shock: But they keep asking where the comp is going to be. So could we also throw it up on the web site under the callender. I think it would get us a few more people:)

I just thought I'd let you guys know, my Mountianeer is going up on the for sale thread tonight. I've decided to keep only the trucks I'm going to be actually using. It just doesn't make sense to me to have a shelf queen and not something I can actually use.
I've also been giving some thought to just closing FreetimeRcHobbies.
Unless a person is able to buy in large quanities, there is just too little profit to be made for the time and effort spent. I haven't made that decision just yet. I would still keep my connections and give our MN club members parts at cost. Part of the reason is: there's seems to be enough vendors here at RCC. Vendors trying to under cut other vendors prices etc
Life is just too short to be working all the time, I want to take some time off to do what I wanna do, which is build and run crawlers, help grow the MN crawling club. And just take some time to relax a bit this summer.
I haven't made any decisions yet about FreetimeRcHobbies, I'm going to take some time to think it over.

9Guy9, the first comp is going to be held in Cannon Falls. I'll have Nickelpimp post it up on the website tonight.

Crawler looks good Shaner!!!

I bet I know someone who wishes it quits raining and that they had the day off today.;-)
I read the review on that in RC Driver. Damn don't run into anybody with that thing, talk about a fawked up ankle, hell that thing would knock you off your feet, and probably break both ankles. Does that thing require an add on to your auto insurance policy.;-)

LOL!!!
No day off today.:-(
Yeah, It would hurt pretty bad if it hit ya. The bast@rd is heavy... It tips the scales at about 21lbs, w/o fuel.
Going out today after work to get a gas can and fuel for it... Maybe have it out and running Wed or Thurs after work.

(I should look into that insurance thing, both loss and health.;-))

Mn summer comp series 6-10-06

Just a reminder.
The Mn summer comp series kicks off this coming Saturday.
Location will be Cannon Falls.
Tech and drivers meeting starts at 11:00am.
First truck through the gates at 12:00.
This is the first of a series of 8 comps, we will be using the best of 6 for your summer points total. You're encouraged to try and make all 8, so you can choose your best 6 finishes for your points total.

There will be prizes at the end of the series generously donated by some vendors here at RCC.
Be there or be square!!!

HEY GUYS... IT FINALLY SHOWED UP!!!!!

(More pics of it here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34946)

That thing is tiny!!! ... oh, it's the bigger one:shock: . Just kidding. I stopped over at hobby warehouse and they had one there on the case already dirty-that thing is HUGE!
Are you bringing it to the comp Sat? That'd be a kick to see it run!!!

I'll probably bring it Saturday... Running or not. I'm want to get out and about with it in the next few days...
I'm going to try to get out tonight to go get a 1gal gas can for it. That should be plenty at first.(the 750cc gas tank can last about 40min, 750cc ~ 1/5 of a gallon. So roughly 3hours 20min per gallon, give or take...)

Ok guys
I don't think I will be able to make it to the first comp. I have $20 to my name for 2 weeks. As I just started the new job on monday. I will try to come up with some cash for gas so I can go. Other wise I hope every thing goes well for the first comp and that every one has fun. Oh and good luck.

Your more than welcome to ride along with me. I just got my Talon together, so I may be taking that:lol: .

Well I went to Hub hobby last night to get a rear drive shaft... Of course they were out of the stampede long shafts. So I got rapped with a $11 jato shaft, which seems to short for the back... Might work up front. Though I have not tried yet. I still need to mod the yoke to fit as well. Diffs are still open and I have not touched the esc yet.

I've been putting in a lot of time at work recently, trying to keep up with everything. Hopefully I will have some time to finish the TLT later this week. Still need to mount the body too... And redo a few ghetto fabbed mockup parts.

Have them on both of my TLT's already. This truck has been a crawler 3 times or so now, maybe more? I just keep rebuilding it for other stuff.
