For the stock kit shocks, is there a way to make the plastic pre-load adjusters hold their position better on the shock? I'd like to get the type with an o-ring in the middle to create a little more friction, does anyone makes these?

You can buy another set of stock preload adjusters to lock it.

Few brands use it w/o issues

Just take odd the preload adjuster and pu a super small dap of loctite on it. Wipe off most of the excess and let the loctite fully cure before reinstalling it on the shock body
