we've had this truck sitting in the grove for a long time. think its a '47 model. there's nothing deep for rust, all surface. the chrome is still in great shape, has all the hubcaps, and the frame is in solid shape. the interior is the only real problem area, the seats have been done since the 60's and it needs a cleaning bad. no clue on the motor running or not, straight six gasser with a crank start . it was setup as a grain truck, but it could be setup as just a flatbed with some new wood.

planning to take this out of the grove and at least get it into a clearing, maybe into the shed. i just have no clue where to even start on prices and if its even worth selling. mainly going to pull it out to get more and better pictures. its one of those things that i'd like to restore, but i don't think that time will ever come, and maybe someone else can have at it.

$900 just my opinion.

EDIT: Actually I work at our local dealership in the summer and he carrys project cars, and sometimes they are really old and beat up and he sells them for +4,000! Check out this ad of his.

-that one he is asking $4,500.

So you could possibly get a good chunk out of it.

better than a kick in the head i suppose, all its doing now is taking up space. i'll try to get it out this week for better pictures that may help on value.

saw your edit, looks like dragging it out could potentially payoff. if it doesn't rain tonight, i think tomorrow after i get home i may pull it out.

well just did some digging around, a beat to nothing fire truck model (no roof, substantial through rust) is going at 2500. that has almost 0 chrome and really needs a lot of help. one in similar condition with a complete grain box has an asking price for 9500, the exterior has more rust, some chrome missing, but the interior is in slightly better shape, and the grain box is in usable shape. so with those numbers in mind would 5k be a fair starting place?

Rotten upholstery is not a big deal, so don't think it'll drag the price down a bunch. Nobody really expects it to be in very good condition, and if it was, it'd get torn out and replaced anyway.

Are you going to auction it off or just sell it outright?

hoping to outright sell it, don't know of any local auction place that i can reasonably drag it to to do that, and i have no clue how to work things on ebay as far as vehicles.

Put it on a trailer, drag it out to a local car show with a FS sign in the window. Take a lawn chair and a cooler full of beverages and spend the day talking to interested buyers.

The worst thing that will happen is that you get a sunburn.

The best thing that will happen is that you'll get lots of ideas about pricing and maybe even sell the thing.

as far as the local car show, i don't have a trailer myself to put it on, but i could maybe talk my uncle out of one, not the worst idea, just going to have to watch the paper for shows.

and jeboat, add a 4 in front and a couple 0's behind and we have a deal :ror:

Summer is coming. So are the car shows.

So $45.00 then?
HAHA.....:lmao::lmao:......correct answer, but not what was expected.....8)

G...sell it to saydee.....tell him it's really rare and better than a roller that has mods done to it that took years (of sitting outside) to do....;-)

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

well you'd never find another like it :lmao: think his price would be upwards of $40k though, just because he's a jack-wagon.

i really do appreciate the help guys, i've never gone about selling something like this. i've sold a lot of stuff, but never something as a project vehicle, or this old. should be warm out tomorrow, probably going to at least cut the trees near it down, maybe get it into the clearing for pictures.

ma is the landowner. the truck hasn't moved since my dad was young, so thinking that title is long, long gone. sure we can get one though.

i'll for sure hit them up when i get it pulled out, and i'll be posting the new pics in here as well. i'd love to see it go to a good home, someone may as well be having fun with it.
