Anybody here know about steel garage doors

Thanks for the Pm Chopfather

I didn't realize that, taking the angle iron off, is taking the tension off the door

I'm going to ask the garage door guy, how much he would charge me to install the seals

Cause he probably has a method and tools that they use to hold the doors at the right height and does it in a timely manner

I do have some saw horses around here some where, or maybe 5 gallon buckets to set the door on

But would be struggling with it doors, until I figure out the tricks

I only loosed the bottom 2 screws on the roller plate enough to slide the track under plate

When I did my garage doors, I never took full tension off the roller plate, like I you have to do with the shop doors

Not sure if I want to try this by self if you got to take the tension off the doors

You won't be taking tension off of the door , just some weight that might cause the door to start creeping up but if your hand chain is hooked to something to keep it from moving you'll be fine. Saw horses or 5 gallon buckets will work but i prefer saw horses because it's easier to work on when it's up a little higher.

Well then maybe I can do the doors by self

I got to call the guy, he has got to order a roll of seal, then give me a price for 25 feet of seal

I'm going to be watching the weather, so if warms up a little too, cause trying

To turn work when your hands are going numb, sucks and then so does wearing gloves

Cause I can't feel my finger tips when trying to pick up screws, when I did my garage doors

It warmed up enough, so my hands didn't hurt and didn't need the gloves

And was able to them done quick

OP as chopfather stated as long as you have a hand chain or opener the curtain won't go anywhere just don't run the door without the bottom bar on it. A little advice if you decide to do this yourself and it's cold out, before you get started take the bottom seal and put it somewhere warm. It makes it so much easier to work with.
