If anybody is regearing, could you post what motor your using, what tires, and what you've changed the gearing to?
And also what the advantages your noticing.

I've so far been very happy with the stock gearing and a 55 turn Integy lathe motor. I'd be curious for those who have re-geared, why? Seems great stock!

I went down to a 12T and went up to a lipo and 8cell 2/3a packs, Im runnin a mamba 25 and a holmes revolver, also moabs and kreepies with 4oz of lead in front wheels. I am running MT2 shocks w/ orange mini T springs at the base."thumbsup" I am going to try a droop setup soon, w/ probably a gopher, cobra 2.2, or DMG's DMC."thumbsup"

How are you running a lipo and 8 cells?

I changed my gearing to a 90 tooth kimbrough spur, and a 12 tooth pinion. I am using a 60 turn handwound on 6 cells. the change in gearing was a big improvement. plenty of wheelspeed and torque.

I am a newbie to the crawling game, but I have stock gearing and a 50T Axiom. It seems to have plenty of wheel speed. I also have way too much weight in my tires with airsoft and steel BB's. I have to say it is not all that bad.

stock gearing but i use a 35 turn and 3 cell lipo and standard size tires. i've had hundreds of combinations and this is the best one i've come up with yet. goes really slow but also on the flat service it can stand itself up on the tailgate. the 3 cell 1100 mh is giving me 40 - 45 minutes of run time, beleave it or not its true. I'm using the BM9 brushless motor. Proline Moabs. I went to a 12 tooth pinion.

By going to the smaller pinion I get greater low speed control. The motor is strong enough that I could have used the supplied 14 tooth pinion, but I like my slow speed control. The smaller pinion also helps with start up.

I am using the Goat with a 2 cell LiPo with the stock gearing right now and I have no complaints. But...

I have a 13t pinion and 90t spur I am installing right after this post. Looking for slower bottom end speed, and I'm not at all concerned about trimming the top speed. It's more than fast enough to pull/push itself out of a roll over with the stock gearing so there is room to move.

Where to get pinions from?
Is the stock spur metal?
I just used a 13t Robinson Racing pinion. Oh, and the stock spur is plastic, not metal.

The 13t / 90t combo made a pretty big difference. At first I thought my battery was dead when I was just driving around 'cause it was a bit slow. Then as soon as I started crawling, I could notice the difference big time! But it may have trimmed too much off the top end; A couple of times I just barely was able to 'run out' of a flip because the wheel speed just wasn't the same.
