Anyone else having this problem w/ LRP Auto Super Reverse?

MY LRP A.I. Auto Super Reverse ESC seems to be having the same problem as mentioned in the LRP FAQ on the Associated site...
http://www.teamassociated.com/racerhub/techhelp/techlrp_esc.htm#36

Namely, it seems to be faster and has more immediate torque in reverse than in forward. The FAQ simply states that the ESC resets itself every time you turn it on. I've tried resetting it and nothing changes. I double checked the polarity of the motor, and it doesn't help.

Also, there seems to be a considerable amount of drag brake. So much so, that when I let off the throttle, the nose takes a serious dive. When I go reverse, and let go, the truck coasts for a few feet.

Anyone else have this problem?

i had a LRP , roccomended by the local hoby shop , i thought i had the thing wired backwards , , it smoked while i was crawl', in the house , stunk up the whole house , wife was a little ticked .... i took it back to the lhs , and they told me tough luck ......

so i went to another hs and bought a Sonik sportmax , its even waterproof, pay'd less for this one than the lrp , i love this one , i wont buy another lrp for a wheeler

Yeah I had another LRP micro ESC for my Xray M18 that went bad. They're supposed to have a Lifetime Warranty but it's been 6 months and I've received nothing but excuses.

Blue is, indeed, NOT better.
I'll stick with orange. It's worked for me for over 15 years.

We had a customer with the same problem with one of those AI ESC's. Buggered if I could figure it out. Swapping batteries, motors, etc didn't help a bit.

For my money, doing the setup once ain't all that hard.

That's what I'm thinkin. I was apprehensive about the no-touch-setup, but I mostly went with the LRP over Novak because of a slightly better motor turn limit. Definitely a mistake now. This thing doesn't even have an on/off switch!

$98.00 AL esc ( blue.. suck )

i have an AL esc bullet reverse use on my old txt, and yeppp it have more torque and speed up to full speed at reverse ( it can't perform reverse at low speed), at first i though " no button, no set up, no motor limit" which mean " no hassel" but i'm totally WRONG, my esc dead now after switch on my 2.2 tlt with few run, i know for sure its not overheat cause i only run few mins each time, dont even know what the H3LL ..wrong with it

Mine has been reliable pulling double duty in both the TLT and the 2.2 Clod for almost a year now. I sort of got used to the reverse delay and the loss of use for throttle exponential settings, but I won't be buying an AI again, that's for sure.

I also have the same problem with mine. It is really touchy when trying to reverse slowly,,,, and that is an understatement. If you are not super careful with the trigger it almost seems like it has two positions in reverse; off and wide open. Thinkin i'll get a Mamba.

I have the cheap AI runner in my crawler and had the same issue at first... then i swapped to a 55T integey lathe motor and the problem went away.
