Anyone having problems getting their Komodo?

On the 1st of July I contacted Furitek to see if the first batch of Komodo's were sold out and I was told on the 1st that all preorders would ship on the 7th and that they would be receiving a second batch on the 14th, Furitek's site showed they had motors for purchase ready to ship on the 7th.

I placed my order on the 4th and the site clearly stated preorders will be shipping on the 7th, nothing about the 1st batch being sold out or mention of the second batch. I received a message from Furitek on the 6th stating that a portion of my order shipped, my motor was not one of them and I thought that maybe it was a mistake, but it was not.

When my order arrived my invoice stated that my motor will not be shipping until the 26th. At the time I wasn't upset about it, because I completely understand and accept that supply chains aren't so hot right now, I moved on.

Today in another thread I saw someone state that Furitek just announced an LED kit, which peaked my interest, so I went to their site to check it out and that's when I got a little pissed, because I saw that they have motors available, yet I still have to wait until the 26th, which is not ok.

Anyone else have a 26th ship date? I emailed Furitek, but I'm not very hopeful that they will send the motor before the 26th.

Pre-orders were likely already sold out, unless they specifically said that there were still open slots (unlikely) I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about that. That's how the Lizard pre-order went for me too. Seems like they can't/don't do large enough runs to meet the demand they generate. Pretty par for the course when dealing with comanies on the other side of the globe.

Where did you order from?
And where did you see them in stock?
Frequently people are upset thinking that Furitek, FuritekUSA, Helidirect and others are all the same. they are not and some times one is doing the same wait that you are doing waiting for the supply.

I'm in a similar position where I ordered, from Furitek USA, the Lizard and their motor mount/gear set, but I did not want to wait for the Komodo motor, so I sourced a different one. The ESC shipped within a day, and I've been running it with the 050 motor, and I received the BL motor, but still don't have mounting hardware.

As someone who manages their own web store, I can appreciate that there are a lot of moving parts to keep track of for a small company. They may be accepting orders for incoming parts, but perhaps haven't updated labeling on the site to reflect pre-order for something thats out of stock. Or they're just inundated with tiny truckers grabbing for their products..

Did you read the part about me emailing FuritekUSA on July 1st? I specifically asked them if the first batch was sold out and they told me no and that ALL preorders WILL ship on the 7th with a second batch arriving on the 14th of July. I have the emails if you'd like to seem them, so do not tell me that I should not be upset about the situation.

I ordered directly from FuritekUSA and saw them in stock on FuritekUSA yesterday afternoon when I created this thread. I just checked FuritekUSA's website, where I placed my order and the site still shows motors in stock.

I used to work at a hobby shop and have had other jobs that dealt with supply chains, so I am very familiar how they work and I know who to go after if something is not right. FuritekUSA made a huge mistake that they feel they don't need to apologize for and in some states what they did is illegal. Charging a customer before shipping a product in some states is a no no. I was charged.

Regarding FuritekUSA and HeliDirect not being the same company, I do not think this is the case, they are one in the same, my invoice has HeliDirect's info printed on it even though I ordered from FuritekUSA. I assume FuritekUSA is under HeliDirect's umbrella and that they are the exclusive U.S. distributor for Furitek. My next step was to file a couple of complaints, which would have been against HeliDirect.

Unfortunately this is not the case. They have the stock and FuritekUSA/HeliDirect is just being shady and not taking care of their paying customers. I know for a fact they have motors in stock, because they replied to my email stating that it will be shipped out in 24, no sorry for the oversight or apology of any kind. Subpar customer service. I hope I don't ever have a problem with my motor or esc.

If you ordered your mounting hardware from FuritekUSA, it's currently in stock, so if you haven't received a shipping confirmation, you should email them.

My ASSUMPTION is that if you preordered the complete package; motor, mount, spur/pinion, and esc from FuritekUSA, then your items where shipped and received in a timely manner, BUT if you decided to piecemeal it together like I did (ordered my ESC though AMain, purchased my motor mount from Dirty's Customs, and motor/pinion/spur through FuritekUSA) then you get your product when you get it.

I created this thread to alert others who may be in the same position as me, so if you placed a preorder with FuritekUSA and haven't received your motor email them and demand that they send it to you, that's what I did and supposedly they are going to ship my motor. I'm willing to share that email as well.

Sorry to hear the OP is having problems with Furitek. An update on my own situation: I did get shipping confirmation and a follow up email that my parts were in the mail. Hope the same is true for the OP..

Good to hear and thank you. Sorry for not keeping this thread up to date.

I received a shipping confirmation the same day I started this thread and my motor should be here Saturday.

Hopefully everyone is receiving and enjoying the Furitek products they ordered. No denying they make a great product, just wish they had better customer service and communicated with their customers.
