Anyone into Xmods?

How about putting a screw in and not noticing it went through 3 wires? That took sometime to solder back on. I tried to get back into it a few days ago but I finally just said fawk it and went slot car racing.

lma0 That 5uc5 man g3n 1s can do that t0 y0u !!1!!1!!

Took a look at my xmod, and found it's tires to be about 1" in diameter. A liitle math later, I realized that 90mph with 1" tires means a tire RPM of 30,000.

That is a helluva secondary driveline that can handle 30,000 RPM.

This speed test was done with a Tamiya speed tester. The test car sports AWD, Carbon Fiber Drive Shaft, RS open bearings, Lithium Power, 4 FET Stack, and the new Nuke 130SM Super Modified Motor.

Stationary test are a whole different deal!

spinning your wheels on a KMA dyno wanna-be is a whole different thing then running down an actual course. I still have seen no proof of a fast xmod

There is now way in hell that a xmod will do 60 mph...the only way that will happen is if you throw it off a cliff or out of a car doing 60. Your starting to sound like Krawlin with his 30bps walmart paintball gun. There MIGHT be a hand full that can do 60 but there pretty much worthless at those speeds...cool but worthless

There is a vid of one on youtube doing 99 km/h (60mph) on a test stand, but as accurately stated by Harley, a Tamiya stationary stand is WORTHLESS in comparison to true ground speed. The stands don't begin to replicate ground resistance, and are pretty much just a fancy way of showing tire RPM in a low resistance scenario. A photo-tach could do the same thing.

i would be turning my xmods into a crawler but i busted the center peice's tab that holds the rear end on. anyone got a spare?

ill try to get a thread going eventually.

I am not saying I haven't wanted to buy one before, I am just saying I don't believe the speed claims.

Xmodification did a pretty cool blazer that made we want one again.
Yeah thats the xmods trucks those are the kool ones I keep those. I am even working on a 4 runner xmod

I hear ya, i have 3 gen 1 xmods, an evo 'stang, and a f 150 with 4wd and lift kit, i have a couple stage 2 nib motors and gears and soem more stuff for them, i juts lost interest on them after i put all the stuff on the f 150 and use the stock motor and gearing and it could barely pull it's weight:x, so i said enough $ dumped on this stuff:roll:, until i saw Xmodifications build, they are really awesome"thumbsup", i might hit up Corey at Rpp for a runner kit or yota truck8)

what have you actually changed other han cosmetics like tyres and body height and stuff?
Stage 2 motor, red gearing
Alloy rear gear box case
Alloy dogbones
alloy knuckles
alloy shafts/outputs
radioshack tire upgrade with civic wheels (drag tires for pics, i rarely drive with them on:P)
Lithium-Ion batteries (wow huge upgrade)
atomicmods v2.2 board (need it to run the liths)
a ton of other stuff im forgetting about
