Anyone make their own drag brake?

Would you give up your freewheeling position for a drag? You could use a second servo to have pos 3 hit a dig switch that shorts the motor, or use your existing servo to trip it.

Really if I am going to do that, I might as well just shift into dig locked rear, and that will help prevent issues.

I think the end answer is just save my money and get a "real" ESC.
 
I know, that's the whole reason I started this thread, my current set-up isn't enough, I wanted an inexpensive way to solve this problem.

It's not always easy to lock the rear on a descent, most times I'll want them in 4WD, so that's where drag brake comes in.
