So I was wondering if anyone has done it or if it would even work. I'm thinking of doing this as a winter project, I have no problems extending the frame etc, but I am wondering if anyone has done it. A wroncho with a twist.

A guy in our local club has his set up like this. A very little bit of trimming was all that was required, after that I believe it bolted right in.

It's good to know it can be done, I have the frame rails comming so I can post how it goes when I get all the parts together. If anyone here has done it I'd love to see some pics.

I did it. Give me a few minutes to get pictures and download em, but my brother's jk is being built exactly that way."thumbsup"

Here are a couple pictures. I am going to start a build thread for him soon, and will put more pictures in there. The scx frame doesn't really match up with any holes on the skid, but I centered the skid in the belly of frame and just drilled through the skid and put hardware in new locations. You do need to shave the skid a little in the front corners to compensate for where the frame breaks inward, and shave a little more in places where the bottom of the frame hits the skid, so it will fit flush up to the inside of the frame. Also, you have to trim the lip of the skid on both sides. Sounds like a lot, but it really is easy. "thumbsup""thumbsup" End result is worth it.

Awesome work ScaleReady! Thats what I was looking for, I like the size and capability of the wraith but not so much the looks. Thanks"thumbsup"

It's easy, Make wider crossmembers, drill holes through the chassis rails to line up with the ones in the Wraith skid. Also you might want to add flat metal strip about 1/8th thick to go in between the rails and the skid plate to stop the rails from twisting when screwing them in. There is a lip on the Wraith skid to keep in mind.

You're in Ontario! Check out GCM Racing.com Awesome guy named Chris, aka 'GENERIS' he has this style build up for his daughter!! Give him a call....

"thumbsup"

I used a razor knife and a file to make the skid fit inside the framewells. Now I need to remove it to bend the frame back on the ends, shock mounts are over the top of the shocks.

What axles are you running? I had no issues there. Try mounting the shocks on the outside of the shock mount on the axle.

Im waiting on shock mounts to get a good feel of how its gonna lay out. My framerails are 3 1/2 inches apart on each end so I should be ok. Im currently fighting links. When I mounted my aftermarket bent links the diff pointed down, so I shortened my uppers. What clearance do you have in between the top of axle to the bottom of your framerail. Using wraith axles

They are tight. about an 1/8" from touching in the rear at full stuff. Front barely touches at full stuff. That is using 110mm dual rate shocks and stock SCX10 shock towers. What links are you using?!? Factory length links, should give you zero problems.
