Might buy a friends used TRX-4 Defender. Was wondering what would a good price be. I don't want to low ball him but I also don't want to get taken. Any info would be awesome.

BTW it is all stock.

Got pictures?

Given that the rig is in great condition, with a gentle amount of wear, it has received proper care and feeding, all hardware rolls smoothly, both axles are free of cracks, all of the electronics work properly, the motor doesn't sound like a mouse with its testicles in a trap, and has spent little to no time in water, sand, mud or lava, I would put the price at around $300-350.

Anything that is lower than what has been stated able and the price drops accordingly.

Congrats!

I've still got my Defender, just SSD aluminum low-profile bumpers and alloy wheels/better tires on mine. Loads of fun!

So the one down side is he didn't have the box or manual any more not sure the functions and all the different Controls. Any chance you or any know where to find that information? Also what's the best and easiest way to clean them?

To clean my RCs I use a compressor turned up to 70ish PSI and blow the dirt off. But I don't drive mine in mud / water.

For the manual, I couldn't find one for your specific model on the Traxxas website. So I looked up one for a similar model that should have all of the same features, just a different body and maybe a different wheelbase:

The support section of that page should give you access to a .pdf version of a manual which should be close enough to your model to get you up and running.

Thank you 🙏

Well he actually gave it to me! He said he used it maybe 3 times lost interest in it and put in storage for the last 4 years so all I need to get is a charger and 4 body clips
Awesome friend!!! Congrats!

Traxxas' website has all of the manuals for their RCs.

First thing... They are "waterproof", in that they will keep going after they are in liquid environments, but no matter what, you are shortening the life of you RC when running them through water, snow, mud, and sand. With that, YouTube has some excellent tutorials on the subject.
