AX2 2 Speed Transmission for Axial Wraith & SCX10/Honcho

I had a chance today to test mine out in an SCX10 trail rig with a 35T/3S. Shifts butter-smooth and 1st gear is really nice for steep downhilling, no drag brake needed. Loads of torque for super slow inching your way up and over the rough stuff. 2nd gear has a decent amount of getup and go also. I'd have to say it's probably one of the best upgrades for an SCX10, and it sure is nice to have the option to drop 'er in low when you need to "thumbsup".

What is the recommended shifter servo to use ;-)

Man I want one when are they going to be back in stock anywhere?

I got mine from CKRC, since everyone else was out. For shifter servos, just about anything will work. Standard size and torque units will have no problem moving the shift rod. One of the mini sized servos should be just fine also.

Here's a friend's Wraith with the Pro4 3300 on 3S and the AX2 trans:

Is that stripping sound the spur gear or just normal sound of the transmission

I just listened to this and I'm not sure what that is. I have had one of these since it first came out and still love it. I have been using the mmp/pro4 3300 since I installed it. I have also ran it on 3s the whole time to. Nothing on the trans has broke. I did strip one ft diff standard ring and pinion and the slipper clutch has backed off once. The slash slipper would be a reccomended upgrade however I haven't swapped in one yet! The trans in my book gets an A+. The trans Along with the Tekin pro 4 are the best two single mods that I have made.

I think I'm going to try one. Did you do any upgrades to the trans.

I had some grit get into the pinion/spur once and it made a nasty noise. I cleaned it out and it was quiet again and there was no damage. So if anyone makes a gear cover for this unit I'll buy one ;-)

No i didn't do any upgrades to the trans other than more grease when i first got it. Als you can modify the stock spur gear cover to work. I show how to earlier in this thread! Im running mine and works great.

Can these run the super shafty beefy top shafts? If not, how are you guys running your 32p Robinson spurs?

I doubt that shaft will work. But as many have said, it pretty strong. I run mine with a pro4 on 3s. My only complaint would be the threaded shift shaft. It is not locked in to place & rotates during use. To the point that the linkage block fell off the shaft. I recommend red locktite to keep it from unthreading.

Another very happy customer here:mrgreen:
Apart from the shift linkage issue already mentioned its great. I have mine in a bruiser running a 25t HH motor on 3s and low range is awesome, heaps of reduction but hi range is even better 8)
Ill be ordering another for other rigs definitely:mrgreen:
