So for the haters, I'm curious what rig (s) brought you into this side of the hobby? What parts or aftermarket parts will you buy for that custom built car? I personally own a twin hammers I like it for what it is and have spent it's cost in upgrades. I would have bought a wraith had a charger and battery been included. Point is I like the competition it brings new stuff and as far as cheap stuff, cool it keeps cost down and allows us to have boom racing, vanquish and ssd come around. Fear not something new will eventually come out for sure��

Axial has been making rock racers since the OG AX10. This is way better.

Your post before this one shows you drink the Axial Kool Aid and you'd probably praise and buy anything and everything they release. Some of us are more realistic.

The only real koolaid comes from Jim Jones and the DNC!!! I find it funny. It's OK to be loyal to a brand. For those who don't like new shinny things great rock on! I like what I see. Hell it might be a real turd who knows. All I can tell you is ill be ordering a DMG STIFFY KIT FOR MINE ;-). One of you good people is in the know, when is this dude going to be on the shelf?

Ever seen fullsize "rock racers"? There is more than one build style. I don't think they are confused. And yes, it's a solid axle car so it isn't going to perform like a B5M. If you want IFS handling, get a Yeti, that's the nice thing about options.

The whole parts bin car comment is the dumbest thing I've read on the internet this week, and I spend quite a bit of time on Facebook. Do you really think they should completely redesign every part for every car? Will we see a new SCX someday? I'm sure we will. You think that they just stop work on it while working on these other cars? You think they just have one guy over there taking care of everything? The timing of this car probably isn't pushing back a new SCX any further. We can see updated parts on this car, so even these "parts bin parts" look like they have gotten some attention.

If you argue that, you are clueless to the world. We, in engineering, are typically forced to reuse parts to get in at a certain budget on products. It happens in every industry. That doesn't mean you can't overdo it.

Like I said, it's common to reuse parts and I actually like this car. But Axial has three rock racers now. Time to move onto something else. At least this appears to be their best rock racer to date.

If they are working on the SCX10 revamp it's taking forever. Just think how many models they have made since the release of the SCX10.

So a full new chassis, updated axle housings (it appears), new tires and new wheels (although glue-on). Those are some pretty substantial new items for a new release. I get the "parts bin" comments when it's a lexan body and bumper or something, but it seems like a huge stretch to call this car that.

This is another part to the RR10 puzzle , on Towers site if you search RR10 , transfer case appears . ( the regular tranmission case is never listed as transfer case )The link doesn't go anywhere but its on their website as a part .
Are we going to see a divorced transfer/transmission on this rig ?

If I remember correctly, Axial made some small updates to the SCX10 very early on. The rest of the releases were new bodies, tires, and/or wheels. That's not a new model. As you agreed above, those are parts bin specials not revamps. I agree, they're still selling a ton and making lots of money or they would have been updated by now. The problem is the competition keeps getting better so they have to do something at some point if they want to stay in the scale crawling game.

When a car is mostly composed of existing parts it's a parts bin special. I could be wrong. The entire drivetrain could be updated. We'd all love that.

i think its great to have so many options in the market you will allways have haters no mater what comes out.Ive had standard and modified scx10's and wraiths but the best for me are the ones you can tinker with,ive a few tube chassiss that im building at the moment that are a mix of parts ie parts bin special as some say :mrgreen: . imliking the look of this rig the tires look great so do the shocks and im hopping the axles have addressed the issues we have all had with the stock ar60 just my two cents"thumbsup"

it would be nice to see the scx10 2.0 at some stage but i think vaterra beat them to the punch with the ascender. if they listened to what people want like ajustable chassis like the ascender, wider axles with smaller pumkins and bigger bearings, divorce kit and t case then they might have something to compete with the new competition

Only thing I could think of with a T-case is if they are going to use the Yeti transmission and then use a new RR10 transfer case to adapt to the rear of it to make up for the length difference needed for a solid axle car. They would also likely need to get some different gearing out of it since the Yeti has a higher gear ratio.

This would also make a lot more sense with Axial saying that this car is "Brushless Ready". Since the Yeti trans is all metal geared versus the Wraith trans which won't hold up in stock form.

Man I am pumped about this Bomber. But I am gonna wait for a kit. I bought the Yeti ready to run. Great car. I upgraded it with sensored esc and motor, aluminum upgrades offered in the kit. Not a bad thing at all. But good things come to those who wait. I have 3 SCX10's and 2 AX10's 1 exo terra and that is enough, 1 Yeti and 1 XR10. But my favorite is my Wraith. I think this will be a nice car.
