Axial XR10 Kit

Man.

They really kinda blew their load early with the ultra secret product release.

LOL 30 forum pages later we get it in 3-4 months.

Ah well. they're gonna pimp this shit like a girl with all her teeth.

But we all do now have time to save our money.... :D

It will allow you to brake either the left or right rear wheels individualy. Lotsa applications for us. Very common in 1:1's

So I'm kindda lost with the cutting brakes, are you going to need to run a 4 channel stick radio? Or are you going to be able to run it with a 3 channel?

i know it sucks that there is an additional 3 month waiting period for these to be available, but, in axial's defense, the 3 extra months might of been a last minute issue that came up before the unveiling. there may of been shipping/customs issues with parts (not 100% sure where they make their stuff...), or actualy production delays, or maybe they realized they simply would not have enough available at the time to satisfy demand, and instead of doing what nintemdo did with their damn wii, they are going to wait until they can fill everyone's orders....

Yah you'll need to have a 4th channel to run the Cutting brakes. The general assumption at the moment is it will use a servo mounted on the rear axle to actuate it.

There is the 4pk by Futaba, which is a 4 chan Pistol if it's just the stick that bothers you, but it's like $400.

If you want to stick with your regular 3 channel radio you can still operate both digs, just not the cutting brakes as well.

I really don't see you need Cutting brakes just yet Cody. And it's an addon anyway, not something you have to have.

The complaints aren't about the product, just the marketing failure.

"Teasers" that last for a week or ten days are annoying. One that lasts for months is ridiculous. But if you're going to have one that lasts for 4 months, then the product should be available as soon as it's announced.

I think that the XR10 is going to be a great product, the engineers that worked on this have obviously done their homework. I may even buy one of these some day. It's just what they consider to be marketing that is annoying.

Need 4 channel radio,

3rd channel - for cutting brakes servo
4th channel - servo to unlock rear differential

If cutting brakes is applied to left rear side and the rear differential is lock, the right rear side wont spin. So there is a need to unlock the rear differential so that the rear wheel can move independently.

Correct me if im wrong, this is just my theory  after read this http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/techarticles/wheels/131_0707_cutting_brakes/index.html

You're wrong.

Here's what you'll have:

Channel 1 - Throttle
Channel 2 - Steering
Channel 3 - Dig (front & rear via something like a PunkRC dig unit)
Channel 4 - Cutting brake. This can function with a 3 position switch. Switch right = right wheel disengaged from dif & locked, Center = locked, switch left = left wheel disengaged from dif & locked.

I don't mind the wait. Time to save and I'd hate to change trucks in the middle of the important part of the season. Plus if this avoids the v1, v2, v3, confusion.. "thumbsup"

don't forget, although not as adjustable, that there is the TQ4 out, too. which if you have an old TQ radio laying around can be had for as low as $60 in some places!

plus RC4WD is planning on releasing a 4ch digital radio soon for around $100, too!!!

Schaaaaweeet! Although personaly I think if I venture away from my dx3r at all, I'm just gonna bite the bullet and do dx6i and dual esc's. The thoughts already crossed my mind.

Hopefully that sliding steering link will hold up well, don't want to bend it. Should be easy to make a body mount kit for it. Will be a fun rig to fab on, can't wait!
