B-MOW's Vanquish VRD Carbon

I finally got all of the short vid clips taped together and added the vid to my YouTube channel.

The video of the VRD on the rocks at Delaware State Park Dam can be found here:

Nice video B-mow ... looks like a good place to test out the vrd, paintjob is pretty slick ... I have yet to build mine but patiently waiting on a stubby kit to be available.

Hey thanks Speedy!"thumbsup"

It is a great place. Glad I found this new spot.

I hear ya on the stubby kit. I thought about adding one to mine, but looks like these kits have turned into unicorns!

I may leave my current VRD alone with the stock VFD and possibly buy another VRD Carbon in the future and go all out with the stubby kit, outrunner motor and BTA servo. I would like to see a side-by-side comparison between the 2 of them.

I think that’s a good idea.

A guy might also have fun straight axle swapping a vrd… for science of course

Yes, a straight axle swap in the name of science would be a great idea.:)

Looks great B! Has a classic look about it.

The Hyrax is a cool tire. They have those grabby little hooks at the surface.

That place looks excellent. I can't wait to get my vrd finished. Finally got the body so it's getting close.

Nice, can't wait to see your VRD.

Thanks smog!"thumbsup"

The Hyrax does work well in my area. It is a tire that usually doesn't stay on my rigs very long though. These tires on my VRD look new (and really they still are), but have been cycled around in my fleet for years. They really need to find a permanent home.

EDIT: Spoiler alert: these Hyrax once again have moved to a different rig.:lmao:

Printed the Harley Designs VRD Carbon inner fenders.

De-brimmed them and threw on some flat black paint to knock off the shine.

Install pics to follow.

Installed the Harley Designs VRD inner fenders. Josh did a great job on these designs. They hug the chassis great and fit like a glove. Two screws per fender is all they need to mount. One at the bumper mounts and one screw with a nut at each shock tower.

Ha, just realized when I was looking at these pictures that I forgot to post about the tire change. I'll get the pics rounded up and get it posted soon.

Looking good buddy

I’ll probably regret selling mine…

I did not know Harley offered these. Very cool. Not sure I'd use them on this right, but awesome nonetheless.

Wait, what! Sell! I could've sworn I just saw a pic of 2 VRD Carbon boxes!

Those are some good looking fenders.

Thanks. Yeah, I think so too.

He just offered these on his website not too long ago. Cheap and easy print.

I'm a scale guy so I had too. Even though this is a comp rig, I still don't like seeing straight thru up under the body to the other side. These are light weight and shouldn't add any top end weight.

I had my vrd built and ready to go, but I ended up parting it out. I used those funds to buy two more kits and already parted those out as well.

I’m going to grab another vrd and maybe a phoenix portal to part out, but I may end up keeping the vrd chassis out of it.

The inner fenders are a good add in my opinion, sure it’s a little extra weight but I can’t stand seeing through the fenders anymore

Well, if nothing else, you may just be the winner of most kits bought by a single person!:ror:

You know though, buying and parting out kits these days looks to pay pretty good. You may just be on to something!

I agree on the inner fenders. I feel the same way. And as light as this VRD is fully equipped, this little bit of weight won't even be noticeable.

How you liking this build? Looking at getting the Carbon or straight axle kit. Just not sure which one yet. :ROFLMAO:

Love it! It is by far the most capable rig in my fleet.

I haven't had it out since I did the tire swap, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the Tusk's do. I gotta a feeling this rig will be even better!
