Back to Basic Clod Super Build thread.

Pics!:), come on Jarod, please post up some pics on the 40 series rims and some total height measurements please"thumbsup", also if you can post those same pics on my thread for size 40 tires petition, this rig is going to look fantastic with these tires8)

Any updates on the tires? i want to get me a set, but i need to know if they perform better than the proline moabs and mashers.

I was told from a Super Guru. They where going anywhere the Moabs where going. So they are just has good. Futher testing will only tell if they are better. He has his mounted on Maxx Beadlocks. I have mine stretched on 40's beadlocks.

Let me tell you.. Mounting them on 40 Beadlocks is just to hard. If I can't get them to mount right. I'll just use some 40's NON-Beadlocks. Anyone know a good 17mm Non Beadlock 40's wheel.

Why not just go with maxx wheels? the tires are 7" tall aren't they? i would just get the maximizer beadlocks for them, or the new proline maxx beadlocks, not sure on the hex size though.

"thumbsup"This should be an intresting build. Ready too see it! I've always liked the looks of the Clod. Ofcourse, what do I know I'm just a newb. Well, ready to see your progress when you have some. "thumbsup"

The only Maximizer Beadlocks with 17mm are ugly as hell. I really like these beadlocks I have now. I'm going to try everyway possible to get these to mount up. But if I have to... At least my Knuckls allow Sub C's for weight and still fit in a Maxx sized wheel."thumbsup"

Just an option....

Most,if not all 1:8 scale buggy wheels are 17mm. They usually have a pretty beefy hex design. Here's some Kyosho buggy wheels I used on my 14r.....

As far as I know,Maxx size tires will glue to any buggy wheel. Might look at the sizes real good before ordering them though.

I'm axious to see what the overall difference in heigth is between the XL's and these Rubicons. I'm looking for something between the XL and the Maxx size masher.

Thanks.. Those wheels are not to bad...I'll give it a look.

The Rubys are the same height as Moab XL's if you run Narrow wheels. But if you don't run a narrow wheel. They are a little shorter.

Well shoot....My wheels are only 1" wide. I'd like to find a tire thats right at 6 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" wide. That'd be a perfect super tire. Guess I might have to get the glue out again.

I'm digging those HR 40 series though. Why only a few bolts on the inside beads? Do they hold that good?

Reduced Moab XL's on Max wheels end up at 6.5" Panther Meat Grinders with 8 rows of pins added end up at 6.4" Both work quite well.

I don't know why they did that. Not sure how they hold yet. The wheel itself is already drilled for the Bolts. Just not the inner Ring. So if I had to. I can eitehr drill the holes myself in the ring. Or just see if I can order 4 more outer rings from HR.

I found these 3.7 Wheels. They are a Dish Style. But I can narrow them very easy. Plus I can make sure Custom Decals to match the body once I get it painted.

Bad thing is I already narrowed on of those HR BL's.. Guess I'll narrow them all and sell them.. :x

Run2jeepin I have been reading this thread over and over and you got me to revive my old clod superclass. Today I just bought a CC voltage regulator to supply continous power to both my 1/4 scale servos. I was going to copy your formula to a tee, but the hobby store had no Sidewinders, so I bought a Mamba Max instead.
As for radio, I dug out my old traxxas tq3 with rear steer mod. I kind of went back a few steps from what it originally had for equipment. DX6 and dual tekin rebel2's with rx pack.
Only one ESC , but the control of the Mamba max is killer and the voltage regulator changed wheeling into a cake walk for the servos. Thanks for the inspiration and formula to the old scool ways."thumbsup"

I can order those wheels anytime you need.

As for it's current Stat.. It's all piled in a Box. I'm waiting on a few little items. I've got 4 builds going. 1.9'er, Berg, Bully and a 6x6 Tow Rig. Then I have to Fix my 2.2 Clod and I'm upgrading my Sons Ax-10.

What are we shooting for in terms of wheelbase?
Do you plan on running a flipped axle?

Don't you wish panther released some production super tires?
