Depends. I picked up a zeee 3s 5200mah and it has the truck a bit too heavy. I used the truck for 2 hours and barely put a dent in it.

So I am going to try and find a lower profile battery and get the inner fender liners to take advantage of the front mounted battery.

I think 2 lower profile batteries would have been the ideal purchase for me.

i just picked up a 3s 4500mAh shorty and have been very happy with it. I gave my 3s 4000mAh Traxxas battery to my son.

I've been using a Turnigy Nano-Tech 3000mAh 3S in my Sport. Get upwards of 2 hours trailing - but that's on the Canyon Trails. I believe the Traxx suck up quite a bit of power, so your mileage will vary.

Hopefully someone running Traxx will chime in.

I prefer batteries from HobbyKing as well. I have mostly Turnigy Nano-Tech or Zippy LiPos. I either run a Zippy 2200 3S or Nano-Tech 4200 2S in my TRX-4.

Without any personal experience, I recommended SMC batteries to a friend based solely on the internet hype. He bought 4 batteries as he was getting a Slash for himself and for his son. Two of those batteries puffed on the second run and SMC basically told him tough shit and they absolutely would not stand behind their batteries. I'd never recommend SMC ever again.

I just bought some Zeee 3s 2200 mah for my TRX4 and so far they are doing well. I was impress at how low they resistance was even on the 1st charge. I can get about 40-45 minutes of crawling with them. If I going on longer runs I stick and extra in my pocket. Not small enough to fit across the front though.

Depends on what you want out of your batteries. Long run time or less weight. I have a mix of 2s and 3s batteries ranging in size from about 2200Mah to 7800Mah. Buy name brand batteries and you will have less problems in general.
