Berg V1, V2, and V3 info...?

So I have done some extensive searching, and cant find much useful info on the various versions of the axles. I know a large amount about the V1's, and have only heard that the V2 has problems with the CVD's. They are otherwise "functionally" fine. The tubes, knuckles, link mounts, and other parts seem to be a bit ugly and bulky.

As for the V3, this seems to be relatively new. Anyone have some more detailed pics and info? How about on the V2? I dont at all care about anything except the trans cases in the middle, and the gears in regards to durability.

Since the V1's seem to be going away, I want to explore making parts for the other versions including tubes, universal conversion kits, and other various stuff.

Any input is appreciated. I cant seem to even find a site to look at the stuff on.

Thanks"thumbsup"

Dont waste your time.....IMO

Gear your time and effort in to V1's so they dont go away......"thumbsup"

it really is the only platform for berg's.................

Thats a tall order unfortunately. I would have to produce a gear set and case to keep them alive really.....

This is why I am inquiring about the V2 and V3. Perhaps their gear sets and cases are stout, an I can offer a kit to make em worth while"thumbsup"

Unless someone really F**k's up a case, im not really sure we need them now...
JPH has cases and you can find them on the Bay.......
My cases are 3 years old and still in great shape...............
and i have spares.......:ror:

now gear sets are a different story.....
SDS has small 2nd and 3rd's covered..( so they say ).... a little spendy but covered...............

lockers are covered, although i would like to see them in Chromoly.. (not Alum. )

so that just leaves large 2nd , 3rd's and 4th gears.............

Yeah, but I am not worried about the people that already have cases, but the people that want to get into a berg. Looking bigger picture. I have never messed up a case either, but I sometimes dont have just 1 rig, or dont always keep em around. Then later I decide to build another "x" crawler, and need the same crap over again:roll:

I did talk to Jake today, and am aware of his parts/prices/stock. But he said that once they're gone, they're gone. So I need to buy some parts before they go away

I had somebody send me V2 to look over and see what I could do. If you want to run them stock, they could be a decent option. As far as upgrading, they made it as difficult as possible. Nothing would switch over and everything was heavy.

I would run a Bully before V2 or V3. I bet the Bully and V2 were close to the same weight.

We have cases still avail if you use the HR case. All we really need is 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. If those run out, I have no problem going to a Bully. Its basically the same thing only you add about an ounce over all, still lighter than most XR's.

still lighter than most XR's.

LOL.

We should just talk on the phone. It would be easier.

Edit:

That was unfair. I should have said a really built Bully. Stock Bully is super heavy.

Haha ya, that may be easier but then I couldn't use that funny pic and it would just sound gay if I said it over the phone. :ror:

Do you have a link to a 4 pound bully. The lightest XR's are in the 3's now with 4 being almost common. My berg is a pig at almost 5.5lbs and it felt 3 lbs less that the last bully I picked up.
Stubs says at the end of his thread that he is at 4.15 lbs.

I dont know how much knuckle weight is added. Thats what it shows in the pic when he says the weight but in that same pic it looks like he is running 6oz combined weight. I know he could kick close to 4 more ounces when we do some of the work we have been talking about, so I am guessing he could come pretty close to 3.5lb

Should easily be in the 4lb range when completed. Sickest bully I've ever seen.

Those are some nice builds. Makes me feel really lazy with my Berg. I am still running rear large lock outs with dogbones and axial stubs. I think I am going to put her on a diet and see what the whole 4 pound car thing is about.
