I swear i have heard people complain about every shock leaking, i have heard there are some tricks to make them stop leaking. Are there any scale shocks that are leak free with no mods?

Kings, proline, axial... opinions?

Looking for 90-95mm

How about front slash powerstroke shocks?

I've been running them for a year on both of my fat scalers and so far so good, but I did just swap them out for ProLine's on Hera... only because I got them for free.

Here's a video of them working.
4:40 and 6:50 are good examples.

If guys can't get shocks to stop leaking, it's time to stick to RTR's and leave those New Bright JK bodies on the original chassis... Unless you've worn it out (O-Rings are worn) there's no reason for any decent shock to leak. SCX10 stockers, ICONS etc will all work great and for a long time if you build (or if you have an RTR, rebuild them) right.

I have a set of SCX10 Shocks that I built 2.5 years ago. They've been on and off several rigs and no leaks.

A secret to building any shock so they won't leak is about 6 minutes and a tiny tube of green goop.

First part is take an extra 90 seconds when fitting stuff together and add some Associated Green slime to the shaft, O-rings and even a little on the piston (I only do this on the crawlers, not on the fast stuff...only oil on those pistons)

RPP Carries it and so should your local shop.

Careful when sliding the shaft through the O-Rings. Lots of Green slime lubes the shaft:shock: and prevents tearing of the o-ring.

Cheers,

hey johnny Is that 2.2 steelies or 1.9 how did you make your tsl mount up. I have pbs on my steelies but was wondering how it would look with my reduced 2.2 tsl on my 1.9 steelies

2.2 Steelies with Underground Crawler's wheel spacer
Cut and Shut TSL's (using 2.2 bead and reduced sidewalls to make them 4.75")

They work great!

Rebuilt my stock scx10 shocks, half full of 50wt and haven't had any problems since. Spring rates was the tuff part once the leaks went away.

iv noticed on all the rtr axials i have had the shocks are made pore form the factory, iv always just rebuild and ran them with no problems,, sometimes they leak cuz the retards building them at the factory dont tighten them all the way

also for the people who take off the bump stops off of the scx10 shocks, if your lazy and lift up the spring grab a razor blade and cut them off, it cauzes a imourity in the shock shaft and that will end up causing a leak,, just dont be lazy pull the ball end off of the shock and remove it that way
