Hey all, I'm looking at getting back into rally (I've had a df-03ra, and that was pretty good. Ride height may not have been the best though. Not sure)

Looking for something with a bit of ride height, for some good rally/ bashing action, but also fairly strong, and what not.

I was tossing up between say:
df-03ra (again, but it served me pretty well)
df-01 (seems to have more height)
xv-01

That's about it at this stage.
Only know about the tamiya ones, not sure if there are any other brands.
Also curious if anybody has done a comparrison on the df-01, df-03ra and the xv-01. I know the df-03ra and the xv-01 get compared often/ were compared often, but yeah. thought I'd see if the df-01 compared as well.

Otherwise, any other 1/10 chassis that work better or what not.

I attempted a tt01 rally chassis, but noop, that didn't go too well. Attempted 70mm shocks in it, and they ended up being on their lowest, and had no travel/ because of the height, the dogbones would get sad, and the diffs weren't happy. 60mm might have been much better.

So yeah, I'm not really much of a rally person usually, I normally do drifting and have started getting into racing of shortcourse trucks and what not. Figured a rallycross race would be fun. The df-03ra went well on the track, but I snapped a wheel, cause it was a drift wheel :/

Cheers

Id take a look at the traxxas servos rally.. I think it would be perfect. But not sure.

Hmm, I have come across that one before, but the scale does seem a bit off... Main reason for 1/10 is all of my drift cars are 1/10, and then I have a much bigger variety of bodies, and what not. parts interchangeability and what not.
Surely that traxxas is closer to a true 1/8?

The traxxas is two different scales, 7th scale length and 6th scale width.

I have had all three of those vehicles.

The DF-01 had a lot of belly clearance, but has a plastic motor mount and a piano wire center shaft. I would not trust it with brushless. Or more then the stock silver can really.

The DF-03ra was pretty good.

And the XV-01 drives amazing! I have 60mm shocks on the front and 70mm on the rear. It works really, really well and droops out to an inch of belly and rides between 1/2" and 3/4" But it does take a little modification.

I have threads in this section on all three cars.

Ah true. I did have a look at your threads on the xv-01 and the df-03ra... I must say, I never thought about the buggy body to cover the innards... That's pretty bloody clever.

Hmm... It seems, for the extra $20 (ebay pricing, yo) It is worth getting the xv.

Might look into an xv then. At risk of making you repeat yourself, haha. Any major things to get for one of them? Greenie/ phoenix76 mentioned the steering parts, and some other things.

But cheers for that man
