hi guys, i need some advice. i know a stock mini-t can only handle a 300 sized motor. how many turns can i get in a 300 size motor? how many turns can it handle? what size is the integy 55t lathe motors? thanks for the help.

a integy is a 540 size motor , it wont fit in there but a good motor for the minit is called the raptor or beast it can be found at one18th.com

I race mini t's and belive it or not the best motor we have found is the grapner speed 300 airplane motor and if its not fast enough stock advance the timing on it and hold on.The motor is also around 12 or 13 bucks new so that helps out a lot.Our local indoor carpet track has an oval that is 25 feet from one inside corner to the other and Thses motors maxx out the timing device at 2.2 second laps and this is running on a 7 cell gp1100 pack.

thanks for the quick info. so how many turns can i get in a 300? ive found one from team losi that is 30...know any higher? oh yeah, and i suppose i should mention that im making a custom minicrawler with mini t electronics. i got them for a fairly good price compared to what i coulld finc a vmg for. thought it would be a neat little truck to screw around with...

ouch...that motor is a little spendy for me. maybe later on down the road...i bet its one killer motor. but are there any other suggestions?

Y not make a custom motor mount and put a bigger motor in it

a piece of alloy
hack saw
drill
2 hrs for R.D.
and there you go :flipoff:

im almost sertain someone has done it before..

i thought the electronics could onlly take a 300? i have a johnson 550 that im not using, but i REALLY dont want to fry another esc. so if it will fry the esc, than no im not doing that.

Beast Raptor.

Super fast, super torquey, good efficiency, and cheap.

I have these in both my Mini T's, and on 7 cells they are FAST! If ya don't wanna go brushless, this motor is the next best thing IMO. The Peak "Raider" is very fast also, but a fair bit more money.
