billj's first MOA build

Good work so far, I will have to revise my hole angles on the next run of these so the mount can be and I will need to do some new milling on them to make it a little more versatile. I always like to get some test units out to people to get some different opinions on things because as we all know crawlers follow no standards, they are generally always different.

you guys are really coming up with innovative ideas. keep'em coming. pretty soon they might be the standard in setup."thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

Well got in a little practice with DickyT this morning, before it started raining. Mty truck didnt do very well, it just didnt want to handle right.Every time i got close to vertical it would just flop over on its lid. DickyT pointed out to me that the way i mounted the battery tray to the CO mount, that the battery was too high. He was right, we strapped the battery to the bottom of the tray. And that made all the difference in the world. So when i got home i redid the battery tray, got her down between the lower links"thumbsup"Should be much better for the local comp we have tomorrow. Thanks DickyT for the advice.

I ended up falling asleep after running some errands. Never got my holes drilled. Looking good Bill!

Much better on the battery placement!

Had a local comp today in North Palm Beach. Truck did well , driver needs practice. I got a third , which im happy with(for now). I still need a little firmer foam. I have stock Nova DD"s. I think i need a firm outer foam,or at least a medium. Also need to lose a little more weight, thinking of drilling gears. All in due time"thumbsup"

Nice driving yesterday Bill, you had a couple moments of pure brilliance that were the best I have ever seen you drive "thumbsup" Drivers always need work, my stupid mistakes cost me the win yesterday, can not fault the rig for any of it.

Thanks Richard. Yeah those "stupid" gates suck:evil:

Maybe I need to develope a gate detection unit w/ a proximity beeper like is in lots of new vehicles bumpers?

Had a comp today, and ended up breaking a pin for the third gear. Who knows where to get these? Also i was looking at the Berg manual, and it shows a 2mm pin and a 1.5mm pin ? But i dont see the locations for the different sizes, the one i broke looks pretty small but i have nothing to measure it with. Thanks for any help!!

Thanks to Gunnar for answering my question about the different size pins"thumbsup"2mm hexes,1.5mm transmission gears

I told you he would have an answer for you ;-)

Nice driving yesterday Bill, you are starting to get used to the rig and it shows. The only time "Stabber" surfaced was when you got into trouble spots. If you ever decide to stop running this chassis ( I know you are jealous of Tyler's :lmao:) I want it, after yesterday it is apparent I need a spare....
