Blue Spyder JK by CFM: Sons new rig

Today was aggravating at times. The VVDs I ordered were for an XR10. It's the only thing they had in stock so I was just gonna reaching them to fit the SCX width. Not the case. I didn't realize that the stubs are different length on the Scx and so I ruined a set of VVDs. Not completely though, I turned them into short side Wraith shafts, so I have spares now.
I ended up turning down some old style Locked Up RC scale hubs into SLW compatible versions.

The I ended up using the .600 VP hubs to give the scale hubs the proper look when installed.

That's what I have been trying to explain as far as using wide hubs instead of custom width axle cases. With the smaller VP hubs, the scale hubs will stick out far and look goofy.
Here is a look at the difference between a stock Rigid light bar and one with the scale light Freqeskinz sticker on.

Got the rear shocks limited internally and an external bump stop, along with the VP shock hoops.

I also added 0-80 hardware to my door handles as I don't trust the glue and dang sure don't want to lose one of the sweet 3d handles from Krawler Konceptz.

Next I went about installing the Dinky RC front light/radiator core kit. Since my body was already painted(inside and out), I went about it a little different. I used Axial lenses and made a hole with 2 small slots for the lenses to set in.

Here are all 4 lenses installed

Next I installed the led clips and painted the radiator portion silver.

Then I took my Dremel(with a bent mandrel) and opened up the grill slots best I could to reveal the full package installed. I used double sides tape for installation.

lookin good man"thumbsup""thumbsup" thats a lucky kid.
Dont tell any body but some times i secretly like jeeps.:flipoff:

After my mishap with the VVDS yesterday, my wheels wouldn't stop turning. So today while figuring out the best way to scale down a customers 1:1, I started messing with a housing that I had made a mistake on for a different job and put it to good use.
OCP SCX-10 w/Wraith knuckles and c's.

Next I'm gonna see if the Currie unit will translate as we'll but I'm not sure because of the upper link configuration, we'll see.

love this thing. its probly just the wideangle close pic, but the pitbulls look wide and short, are they custom or is it just the camera?
your project always make me wish i had a lathe!

Thanks Cory.
They are custom 5.375" 2.2s done by crawler innovations. Bout as small as you can go and keep them proportionate. I'd also like to grow a set of 1.9s to 4.875".

New licensed wrap coming for the Blue Spyder JK. Even got my Team logos added in for Vanquish, Locked UP, and Dinky RC

Awesome build. Just got my Krawler Konceptz kit and was wondering what kind of paint you used to get best looking results. Did you use the same paint on the dinky light/radiator kit?

I used regular krylon on the KK parts. They turned out alright but I also didn't wash them or anything before hand which I normally do.
On the Dinky kit, I used Tamiya paint for plastics. It's styrene so any paint will work on it. Just clean it like normal.
