How much flex are you looking for? Here is mine with VP sway bar. Im happy with the amount it has but I haven't tested it yet. A ton of flex isn't always a good thing.

Ok. I understand now. Let me ask this, what percentage of full articulation would be acceptable with a sway bar?Downtown,
The sway bar is good for crawling because it helps keep the front tires planted. Otherwise the back end has a tendency to squat too much in some cases and you lose traction in the front or create a situation where the rig will want to flip over backwards. Thus the different stiffness/types of bars are good for different things. The Axial bar is great for what you described. Modifying it by notching it or going with a softer bar like Dlux or maybe VP from the sound of things may be better for crawling.
You will notice that some 1:1 crawling jeeps have the Currie Antirock sway bar that the VP version is based on mounted at the back ends.

84Yoda,
Excellent picture for reference with the VP set-up. Thanks

So, the trick is finding the set-up that works with your build and desired driving style. With the various ideas and options, this is why I thought this thread might have some value. Knowing what I do now, I would have gone for the Dlux or VP for my build instead of modifying an Axial.
...now I need to find a Wraith so I can put my Bomber on it for reference compared to Yoda's![]()

I'm guessing you've had a chance to run your rig. Are you happy with the sway bar? Looking hard at that set up.
I am about to go to twin hammer length arms on mine and I already have the anti-rock. It looks like you still have your sway bar mounted in front of the rear axle. I was thinking I would move it to the rear so I could mount the links to the longest part of the sway bar "arm" so it could put more torque into turning the torsion spring. Possibly a little more flex.
Care to post a pic of your sway bar setup with the the arms on?
To mount the VP in rear will require some work to make it fit (rod is to short). I'd like to find same diameter rod as vp uses and make a longer rod to work in rear because that will be the easiest option. The forward mount takes no work to make it fit.

Thanks man. Doesn't look to bad.
Ya at this point I am wondering if I should have just gotten the sway bar from dlux.... maybe I will get that and save the anti-rock for the front in case I decide to use it.
