Bomber who? Wraiths still rule!

I love this thing, well done. One of my wraiths is tummy tucked with full interior, it does require some creative trimming, but nothing too crazy that’s noticeable wih a driver/passenger.

Thanks, the AX2 trans has the servo on top. it's tight as it is! "thumbsup"

Glad to see some other Wraith pics....I'm not the only one still running them. "thumbsup"

Yessir, the wraith may be my all time favorite rc. I can’t remember ever choosing to drive the bomber over one of the wraith’s once the newness wore off. The same can be said for all of the 1.9 stuff for that matter as well.

I'm going to kick this 6 month old thread because it is the most recent!!!

I'm looking at building a wraith on portals with rear steer, running 1.9 tires to keep with more of the scale. how did yours perform?

I like the realism of the wraith over my bomber... found such a good deal that I'll build both. Just getting back into RC hobby after 10+ year break with work, kids and life.....

Yes! Wraiths are still awesome! I’ve had multiple in varying levels of stock (completely to mostly) but I’m changing that now with the original ifs/solid rear axial! It even predates the yeti!

I just showed my Wraith a bunch of love. I didn't drive it much last season, but every time I did it made me grin. It's just such a beast with the 2.2's and on 4S!

Hardly any need to pick a line, just point and shoot and it blows right through!:lmao:

OSRC,

what portal axle did you run?
two speed trans? what gears?
how was the speed?
did you break much?

thanks!

Assuming you are referring to this iteration from the first post?

These are Gmade R1 axles. Stock trans with an outrunner motor. Low speed crawler, and no, never broke a thing. Very rarely do.

I love my custom wraith 1.9. Gonna run it in a few comps in the next few months to see how it still does.

Been tinkering with this thing on and off... Sitting back on AR60's now. Pretty well built axles, OD/UD, Beef tubes, all the goodies. Some big Gmade shocks provide the squish.

AX2 transmission has been replaced with a stock trans w/dig installed. I don't use it much, but after messing with the Capra, I thought it was a nice feature to have. WB is shorted by about 1.5"

Needed some tires, so I was doing some searching and came across Traxxas 2.2 Canyons for a pretty good deal. Haven't seen these on many rigs, and since my 1.9's were frankly excellent tires, I thought I'd give them a shot. I'll run them first, and then probably trim the center lugs a bit since it made a world of difference on the 1.9's.

Interestingly, they come with a dual stage foam. Pretty nice ones too. That was a nice suprise... I pulled them out to install some softer CI foams and boom. They'll get used somewhere for sure.

Canyons are a bit smaller than I expected - slightly smaller than on OG Proline TSL. I think they'll be ok though, I think 6" tires look too tall on the Wraith, 5.5 is right in the sweet spot.

Just waiting on some 2.2 wheels that are enroute.
