What is the best filler materiel to use when brazing 3/16 tubing using MAP gas? Silver Solder, 1/16" Brazing Rod, Plumber Solder, ???

I find saftey silv45 to be the easiest to work with, But 1/16 flux coated brazing rod is a good place to start with since it's cheap. Once you get the hang of that silver solder will be a breeze.

Thanx Arnel, I actually picked up some silver 56% .029, if I struggle I will try some rod.

Right below your member information, you'll see there is a search function. It is free to use. There is A TON of information on brazing.

Do I sense a bit of sarcasm? FYI, I read TONS on this forum and the one time I take a little shortcut and ask a question that's been answered with many different opinions, I get my balls busted by the forum police:flipoff:

Not really. If you do read this forum, you would have come across the 20+ (if not more) threads on brazing and what to use. There aren't any forum police here and I'm certainly not holding a badge.

If you MUST know, MAPP gas and Harris Safety Silv 56/45 will handle any brazing job. Make sure you fish mouth your joints so that you will get a solid braze joint.
