Well I dug my old trucks out and looking to up date them. Neither has a radio system and I’m wanting to get away from the old speed control set up. Is there system that seems to work better with this truck?

I'm using a Futaba 7AC 2.4ghz stick radio because it has 3 position switches that you can adjust the EPA.
I'd really like to get a pistol grip radio, but can't justify the almost 200 bones to get a 3 position switch that may not even have EPA. Of the users on this site that say they use a Fataba 4PLS to run the Bruiser or HG-P407 bruiser clone, none of them have had the courtesy to reply back and explaining how they are using the radio for the opertaion of the tranny.

Here is a good build thread by Nitor who uses the Heli version of mine.

Decided to try the flysky GT5.
It works perfect for this and the clone.
Channel 4 is a 3 way switch. All channels have EPA which makes this pistol grip radio a good match up.
My 7channel Futaba stick radio works well, but the bulky feel is less enjoyable for driving a vehicle
