brushless motor water proof?

generally most sensorless motors are water proof, but they are extremely susceptible to grit, and dirt. I try not to get my motors wet, especially when its wet road because its all kinds of dirty

I have a castle motor and was wondering the same. I have heard this same issue. The only spot i can see for things to get in is by the wires. I thought if i put some silicone it that piece it would be completely sealed. Will this work? Is there anywhere else??

Through the bearings. Depending on the RPM you are running, any water in the bearings could prematurely wear out the bearings...especially if you are in a high RPM situation. Heats up the water, vaporizes it and it takes the oil with it. Then rust, then sieze... Don't ask me how I know that one.

just as you would do with a brushed motor when its in the wet, you want to relube the bearings with a good motor lube"thumbsup"
