Brushless Stampede Mamba Max/5700 w/ a little vid

Yeah if you dont bother checking the temp every minute. For a basher I would go with a large 2cell. 3cells are just for speed runs..Btw I fried a 4600 with that setup (with the rite gears) and had to send it in to castle to get it fixed.

Silly, this is the slash.

Yow
I thought my VXL Slash was pretty peppy, now I feel the need to spend money

Saw the vid. What gearing are you using in the Slash, Pinion/Spur??

Guys/Gals, this was nothing other then a stock running gear swap. I removed the pinion from the 12t Titan and installed it on my Slash. It is purely motor and esc swapped out running on 11.1 volts now. It does get warm. I have had it go thermal the other day. I think anything moving this fast will heat up. I am working on my second Slash with 2s lipo and a 7700kv setup. Fast enough? We'll see...

I have a rustler with redcat bl system, it's a 3300kv motor and the specs on the esc is that is rated to 18v, so far i had it with 2 maxamps 4400 mah 7.2 packs at 14.4v and got it to 59mph, not bad for nimh i guess, i can't recall the pinion i was using, but i had an 86t spur, i then used a lipo pack (my first lipo) i got from JRH, it's a small 1800mah 3s that i bought for one of my crawlers, and i decided to test it on the rustler, and  i couldn't keep the front wheels on the ground, at any speed:shock:,it felt faster then the nimh, i'll now get a higher kv motor to run with this esc up to the 18v limit and see what speeds i can get , what batt would you guys recommend, i want to get a 3s pack that i can use on my rustler, losi desert truck and my slash also. I have a bunch of nimh packs laying around i just don't want to have to many lipo packs to worry about just now.

A decent "off the shelf" Li-po you can pick up for a reasonable price is the Thunder Power v2 Extreme packs. I have 2 3300 mAh 3S packs that work pretty well. Otherwise, order elite cells from CheapBatteryPacks.com, I think they are the most bang for the buck. JRH, your comments??

Thanks for the tips, keep them coming"thumbsup", i forgot to add that i have another sidewinder/5700 kv coming my way from Rpp, so that would be used with that batt also. And all the rest of my fast stuff is only novak ss5800 systems and i know i can't go over 2s on those. I have bought packs from cheapbatteries before and they were great, but i also have got some from jrh and maxamps, who would have a better cell?

A little update

Picked up some Pro Line 30 series dirthawgs mounted them on black chrome Traxxas wheels. Bolted up RPM rear pede a-arms up front, and ran rear shocks up front also. Running 80wt oil and with them layed down a little it keeps the front nice and firm, handles great. Painted up a Hummer body for it also, not a huge fan of the body but theres not a big selection for the Pede. Still a daily driver when I have time, gotta love lipo's seems like they always have juice"thumbsup"
