Don't buy that junk, just get a SCX10 kit. "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

I do have a SCX10.

What makes it a piece of junk?

and do you even own a redcat?
Im lookin for feedback from a RedCat owner not feedback by someone who doesn't own one.

Can you make them into a "scale" crawler? Not true scale, no. You can put a scale looking body on them and some other bits, but if you're looking for a scaler, I would look elsewhere. For crawling they're fairly decent with some mods, but out of the box I wouldn't expect perfection. For "mudding" I would suggest a different rig, but if you wanna take the RS10 in mud, you can...you just need to waterproof the electronics. The servos, much like in any RTR rig, suck...they should be replaced ASAP. The other electronics are fairly decent and seem to hold up fine. My suggestion is to do lots of reading and research before you buy a rig.

"thumbsup"ok thank you bud. Now that was the kind of feedback i was lookin for"thumbsup""thumbsup"

HAHA well how are they for crawlin out of the box?

Well, out of the box, pretty much any RTR rig isn't gonna crawl that well. With a few mods the RS10's do fairly well, but they're really not on par with the nicer rigs like bullies, bergs, and xr10's. They're a decent enough rig for someone new to the hobby to pick up a capable crawler for a low price, though.

ok. This guy has 4 of them new in the box and there ready to run. Hows the Controller or transmitter or what ever its called? and hows the 4 wheel steering?

The stock radio isn't terrible...I think some folks have good luck with them. My receiver messed up after about 3 months of owning mine, so I've since upgraded to a different radio and receiver. I only ran the rear steer for the first couple of weeks of owning mine and I got bored with it and removed it, then locked out the rear. It works fine and is pretty cool for a little while, but I didn't feel the need to keep it.

i love the 4 wheel stear but my friend that has one hated it.
the only thing i would change is the servo's mine is going out but i have beat the hell out of it ran it across my dad's creek let my 5 year old little brother drive it as well as my 4 year old cousion and its still going with no problems other than the stock servo's geting week "thumbsup"

I owned a rs10 and loved it, however you will need to upgrade your servos and tires. The servos doesnt turn good when in a slight bind. The tires suck, too hard of a compound and sipping doesnt help. I even took the foams out and wasnt any better.

oh also.what size motor is it? and how fast is it?

oh and can you run two of these at the same time?

Mine was the 380 canned 70t with 10t pinion. It had decent wheel speed but different had more in it.

Run two of what? rs10s?

yea. Cause this guy has 4 of them in the box and my dad was gunna buy two of them. One for him and one for my brother, and i have a Honcho. So could we run all 3 and have no interference?

As long as you get crawlers that have different frequencies, you can run all three together. There is a sticker on the box and radio that will tell you what frequency the crawler has.

The new RS10-XT uses a 390 can motor and 8T pinions, while the original RS10 used a 380 can motor and 10T pinions. You can expect around a 5mph speed from either configuration.

As far as a "scale" crawler, the RS10 has motors on each axle and no true driveline. Sure, any RTR crawler can be made better, but these will be fine for general backyard crawling.

Very Very capable rigs. Surf this section for build threads, there are some sweet rigs that are very capable and could hold up with ( or show up) an SCX10 any day with some tweaking. Needs tires right away, servos not long after ( as is the case with most RTR rigs). The radio is decent and esc is pretty good too with a beefy drag brake. The main down fall to them is no parts at the local shops, but some ax10 parts interchange and redcats warranty program is fast and friendly. More and more places are making aftermarket stuff for them as well. For the money its a great way to try out MOA. I love mine and still don't regret it after almost a year.
