That is the other nice thing you can take a dish with you and set up where ever you are, I might take mine to Moab but I might be to blury eye drunk to watch it in the camper.

I know this is a thead discussing Directv and cable but any body thinking of getting Dish Network....NOOOOOOOO

When I stopped service becuase I moved, they tried to charge me to cancel when I was already out of my contract. Then they needed equipement back, but never sent me the boxes so the charged me for it, then when I called to complian the said they would ship some boxes and refund once they got it. NOPE, they restarted my service.........so when I called and asked where the boxes were, they said what boxes and tried to tell me that my service bill was late....so I had them shut it off again and get boxes so I can get refunded. THey charged me again for shutting off services and a second equipement charge. I finally sent the equipment back in diffrent boxes and they showed theyt recieved them. But no refund. It took me almost 4 months of calls to finally get my $1300 back, they still owe me $200 but I said forget it and wash my hands clean of them.

I now have Comcast digital cable with HD, I love it. I have only compared it to 2 direct tv setups, one was HD but it was a nockoff brand tv and wasnt very good, I think it was the TV. And the second wasnt HD but over all the picture was good.

I think just find the one that will give you the most options for the best price, and go with that one for a year, then if you are not happy just cancel it and get the other. Most companies will give you free equipement with a 1 year
contract, so you shouldnt be out much money

My boss had similar problems with the billing of Dish network, over charging him things and then when they wouldnt refund him even after seeing the mistake he canceled which just brought about even more incorrect charges, So I know it isnt just me.

I understand that a company as big as them is going to have a few mistakes in the billing, my complaint is the way that they handled it, every time I called I was given the run around and was never contacted back, half the times I call they gave me a confirmation number for my refund, when I didnt get it I would call and ask and that number didnt exist in the system and there would be another charge for some other random thing. I was charged with 2 cancelation fees and 2 $500 equipement fees then they restarted my service to a house that I moved from 5 months ago, and tried to charge me for that service. It was dish and there billing and customer service department, and like I said ealier I am not the only one I know that has had alot of problems with there billing dept.

From what IM told the installing company is responsable for billing charges, and all questions get reverted back through them...they are your problem.

My neighbors cancelled when they moved out and no issues at all. no additional charges, the installers came and got the equiptment, same day.

I have to say that the Cox cable service here in Vegas is really good. I run HD and digi modem and was going to do VoIP but it still seems to cost more than Vonage. In your case if you are having problems with your cable company you are kind of forced to go satelite. Keep on top of customer service because Direct TV's sucks. BTW if I am not mistaken I think Direct TV bought the other one.

many of your local stations are...........Like all the phoenix staions are on dish but my lil flagstaff station I need the bunny ears to get..not a big issue for one station

I've had my sattelite for over 4 years now. Maybe it was a Vegas thing.

The reason I entertained getting it was because I read that they were changing that in the market. The sales guy assured me it was piped in through the sat because at the time my TV had no tuner.

They were building at 8 houses to a acre. They just approved 10 to an acre. I know the homeowner association nazis have a field day with the dish people. Many people have had their houses forclosed due to violations.
