can axial scx10 tr trucks be used as a speeder truck such as speeding down the street, racing on off road tracks & bashing.

in a nut shell can a tr axial scx10 handle 30+ mph ?

my guess is no due to the 0 videos ive found on youtube

with one of the build i dont, we used an alloy GB housing, carbon steel gears in everything, upgraded shafts, outputs, drives, pins and stuck a 5.5turn tourer motor in with a 24 pinion and 78 spur and she flew, dunno the speed but she would leave awsome gravel rash up ur chins

You could always put a brushless and 3s Lipo in one and gear the hell out of it and see what gives up first. I ave seen a couple of quick ones, but I dont know about 30 mph. A friend of mine was building one to run on the track with the short course truck but I dont know what became of it.

i didn't think these trucks could handle speed but a buddy of mine was asking cause he loves my scx10 but hates the speed. i get that question all the time when im out and it seems thats everybody first question -"how fast does it go"

its pretty sad explaining that my $300 dollar truck is slower than a toys r us truck to people who think speed and nitro are everything and theres nothing worse off than a group of small kids in the park looking over my shoulder asking me drag race it or jump some ramps and such :x

i took my scx10 with me to a party this past Saturday and everyone was excited to watch it go in the backyard  . so we went to the backyard i put it down and went straight for the trails/off road area in the yard and my crowd started to say things like run it in the driveway! why is it so slow? then my crowd started too shrink. in all honesty i felt kind of dumb i mean here i was telling people about this truck and how great it is just to lose everybody's interest in less than 5 minutes

im trying to start a club or join one in my area to help overcome this

the people over at Axial made it to go slow and crawl over thing, like the guy above me, want something fast buy slash 4x4 or some thing. with the stock part from the factory your just going to break some thing then after you put after market part your looking around the same price as slash. would be cool to see one do 30-40+mph at the track

I kinda like the idea myself. I understand it's meant to be a crawler, but I think it would be cool to do a scale SCORE rig. Something like a Stock Full or a Stock Mini class truck, like this:

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xZI0eNfMmmg?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xZI0eNfMmmg?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

If thats what you want then get a savage. The SCX10 is a scale crawler..

i just made a statement about people not knowing what there talking about and how most people view rc car/trucks as being built for speed.

this is why im trying to start a club or join one in my area to help overcome this . i ordered the 2010 MSD/Axial Scale Nationals dvd & i plan on showing this dvd to just about everybody i know that is even remotely into this hobby. im going to start something "thumbsup"

should be able to go just as fast as a HPI mt. they share the same style Ring and Pinions. switch out the trans for something with less reduction like a HPI mt and stiffen up the shocks maybe add sway bars.. it really should not be that hard to get one up to 30 and still handle pretty well. they have a narrow trackwidth compared to a slash or most 1/8 and even 1/10 scale buggys so cornering will suffer. But It would also be much more realistic for the most part..

Might want to add a servo saver to..

I had mine built up to go around 25 mph as a hill shooter.
If your gonna want to do any kind of racing then you would need to pull the lockers on both ends, and lower the ride height depending on what your running on.

Yhea they can be made to go stupid fast and they do sort of stand up to the abuse.

I strapped a 4300kv brushless, geared 87/22 on 3s into mine and had it hanging with the drift boys at the local track (on flat irons as well:lmao:)
Was doing speed runs in my street with it the next day till i stripped the spur..
Went like shit of a shovel in a straight line, but fell over really easy if you turned too sharp.:)

why not there is a 2speed mod for it and whats a better basher than a scale truck that looks like the real thing haul-in:mrgreen::flipoff::mrgreen: ass

yes that 2 speed summit tranny is bad as choice you can go fast and crawler rocks trails basher and you can put in a vxl power to it !!! "thumbsup"

HPI racing has that little 1/16 RTR Mini trophy truck the link below dont know how fast she goes but look like 20+

A honcho class at the track would be a ball. 4600kv, 3s, you'd have plenty of speed to rip around and cause some carnage! or summit trans... Problem is, once you get these built with some speed, any slight turn above 9mph and your on your lid.
