well my main issue is wether or not the slash tranny and diff can handle the power the 9000kv will bring to the table.

some of the other reasons im concidering the 9000 is that ive heard that the build quality of it is really way up on the charts. and the 8 cell max on it will prevent me from trying to run a "10 and up cell" setup

You won't have any problems with the tranny. Folks are running plenty of setups, without problems, that make the Castle Mamba motors look like docile little puppies.
