Charging SCX24 battery

I just received a SCX24 - my first crawler. I also recently got an Arrma basher and a Spektrum charger.

I want to be able to charge the stock battery using a Spektrum S2100 charger. The charger has IC3/EC3 connectors and of course a balance connector.

I am not sure how to charge the SCX24 battery with it. The stock SCX24 charger seems to charge through a balance connector only. However, the S2100 gives an error message if I only plug in the balance connector.

Does anyone know if the S2100 can charge the stock SCX24 battery? Do I need an adapter to go from the SCX24 battery to EC3 to use the S2100 charger?

Thanks

That looks like the right one!

I wound up going the other direction and made a adapter that I use in the truck to use the more common red JIS connectors as it seems like there are more batteries out there that use that connector than the PH2.0. Six of one, half dozen of the other kind of thing.

^ This is the way to go. There are batteries with the JST PH2.0 stock, but they are usually smaller than the stock one.

There's a ton of stuff that uses the JST RCY (not JIS) - ie the red connectors. You can get 500 mah batteries that are the same length and width as the stocker and about 1/3 the price.

Like you, I just made a little PH2.0 to RCY pigtail that is attached to the ESC. Then I just re-terminated the stock battery with a JST RCY

In case anyone is looking at this thread in the future, the adapter I posted was the right one and works.

Thanks for the suggestions on switching to the red JIS connectors. For now I will take the path of least resistance and use the adapter I ordered and the stock battery. I might make the switch in the future though.
