wasn't sure if this thread belonged here or tools and procedures,
feel free to move it if it does...
found these at target for $5.00.

but i don't want to use all 18 lights on one rig. how do
i figure out how many volts to use with 8 of
them? i don't see any where on the package
that says how much each LED draws for power.
i have a multi-meter, just not sure what reading
i'm lookin' for...

Most leds are 1.5v. Since you have so many, try attaching just one to a AA or AAA battery and leave it for a minute. If it fries, try getting different size resistors, and repeating the same process.

Use your multi-meter and check a single led for resistance. If it doesn't read anything then you will need a resistor. if it has the right resistance you can run them at several different Voltages. I ran mine at 14.4 when I had my EVX then did the mod to single battery and ran them at 7.2V. I buy mine off ebay all the time though have never used the ones like you have.

I was at the mall yesterday, and picked up some of the LEDs. They're pretty bright. I'm going to be putting all them on my hummer. Luckily, theres 18 spots on the hummer that can use them.

I got some mounted in the Hummer. :-D

Pretty bright. I took a pic of them shining on the new Jeep from 4-5 feet away. And I accidently busted one 2 of the LEDs trying to get them in. The top left one, if you can't tell, is one of the busted ones. Note how its a lot dimmer.

I looked and didn't see them. What area of Target were they in?
Buy the christmas lights. Theres a section for replacement bulbs. Maybe you could take the pic posted in the first post with you to the store and ask someone.

I'm currently doing an experiment with them. I turned them on before I went to school today, and I got home and they're still on. They're not even any dimmer than when I left!! Its been about 7 hours, plus the time the time I've had them on while installing them in the Hummer then moving them to the Jeep. All 18 lights are still there, I have not modded the string of lights in any way. They're awsome!!

I added 4 led's to mine and just wired them all together into a 9v battery plug w/battery. I am going to add a toggle on/off switch though so I dont have to keep taking the battery out to turn them off. "thumbsup"

You added them to the same string of leds that muddauber7 and I've got?
