Hey everyone. I've been looking for a reasonably priced radio system. If anyone has any suggestions, please comment. Thank you.

I use a spektrum dx2s but alot of people use futaba 4pl or 4pks ur prolly gonna want a 3 channel I like spektrum and I'm gonna upgrade to a dx3s/dx3r but it's all personal preference but seems like spektrum and futaba r the brands to stick with

What are you going to use it for? If your using it for a mini or a sportsman you just need a 2 channel, if your running dig or moa with two esc then you need something better.

At hobbypartz.com they have a flysky tx and rx that will work for mini or sportsman for only $20.00 bucks. I'm going to purchase one for my mini, it has great reviews and is what was suggested to me for my MRC

the 4pl is around $250 new, 4pks about $500 new, dx3r's can be found for $150-200 used.
lately ive been using a flysky gt3b ($35) with losikids hack kit ($25) and it has 6 channels and can control everything i have that needs a 3pos switch for dig, winches, ect.., or dual esc mixing

the only thing i can think of that may be a downside is that you need to buy the programming kit and download the programs and firmware, but if you have windows 7 on your pc the program to put the new firmware on may not work for you. once it has the new firmware on it it's great and extra rx's are $7-8 for 3ch and $9 for 6ch. ever since ive reprogrammmed mine its been working flawlessly once i got everything figured out.

i comped with a flysky 2ch in my 1.9 and its great. quick adjustments on the top,not a bunch of buttons and menus to dive into. cheap and light weight rx too. "thumbsup"

X2 on the dx3c a lot of people have bought them at my local hobby shop with no complaints it has 3 channels which it is good to have especially for crawling in case you wanna run dig or lights or anything else besides steering and throttle that you want to run on your cars plus its cheap!"thumbsup"

You don't have to have the updated firmware to use the radio. But it does allow the expo to work properly, and you gain more model memory. All the rest of the cool stuff the updated firmware does isn't neccessary if you are only using 2 channels.

The downside to a GT3B? The factory expo doesn't function properly, and the trim options are very narrow so you must be precise with mechanically setting up the servo horn. The response time on the Flysky radios is also apparently a few milliseconds slower than say, a high end Futaba or Spectrum radio. My amature fingers can't tell the difference at 2mph.

I'm very happy with my GT3B. I also have the 2 channel version, and it works fine, but you miss out on endpoint adjustment so I use it in my bash car.

IMO the biggest advantage to the GT3B other than the initial price, is how cheap recievers are! I've outfitted half my fleet for the cost of one Spectrum radio.

Good info in this thread. Definitely worth considering for my built CK, it's about to be retired to backyard bashing anyway! That price is amazing. I'm going to build a comp crawler soon and will probably go Spectrum for that but this is a great resource for general use.
