Hey guys been out of the game for a bit, is there anything new on cheap hopefully water proof servos. My gfs truck had a mg996r cheapo servo but it worked pretty well for a long time and it finally shorted out. Was thinking of just ordering the 4 pack of those off ebay unless theres something else good that people are using. Any tips would be great thanks guys "thumbsup"

How abouts a low cost HO/MG'd servo...
that offers performance and durability
likened to that of a $ 100. servo ?

crawler servo...

Solar Servo D772

for the speed racer type crowd needing more steering speed and less torque...

Solar servo D771

^ power either using 7.4v to net peak performance

Unfortunately... they are only water resistant...
and further effort will be necessary to make them fully WP.
^ not difficult, nor costly to do.

* It's probably a good thought and plan of action
to utilize a BEC when running any HO type servo.

traxxas 2075 is waterproof and had enough torque for a stock rig (but one tumble will strip the gears)

I'm running Solar D772's that are waterproofed with no issues (but they've not been submerged either)

Valuehobby.com has servo's for dirt cheap, but they are not waterproof.not too bad of specs on alot of them either.me and a buddy use them in our racers

I just ordered Power HD 1501 metal gear from them. Seems legit enough, cant run it without my BEC that i just shipped back to castle.

I also have a solar d771 in my kids scx10. Its plenty good for him

+1 On Solar D772 / D771.

Unless your on huge 2.2's and need Super Torque. Still saving / justifying for a 500++oz/in servo in my Wraith.

For a lighter, small tire rig the power hd works out great with kust over 200 oz torque.

Think i want to try a d772 in my TF2. I keep a smaller tire on that rig but i run heavy beadlocks and the rig itself is a bit of a pig (to me)

^ 425 oz/in isn't bad...

but if cheap and best could work in the same sentence...

Then the Solar D772 wins ;-)

^ maybe slower then the TS-910
but higher speeds aren't very scale like
in a slow mo' crawler anyways.

But the TS-910 could offer an advantage
when used in a rock racer/bouncer rig.

Does the Solar have a full aluminum housing?

No it don't have alum housing! That's part of why it is only $23 at 415oz torque...it is the best value out here & its holding up on 2 of my current rigs & holding there own against others I have 7950th,HH gen 1&2,7955tg,Hobbico 170(in that order) just sayin if you want cheap then "772" if ya think about it you can get 4 772's for price of one listed above..."thumbsup"

I hear that. I just really hate broken ears so thats i big selling point for me and only $12 more makes it my winner (as long as it lasts). I may have to order a couple 772's and check them out on my trail trucks though. I have no doubt it holds it's own against a 7950. I have one in my wraith. Not a fan at all. It will be replaced the next time its weak titanium gears shred themselves.

Im not bashing the 7950 running it in my 2.2 pro it has had some abuse without any rebuilds so far! It is pricey with but with great cust service I had on the 7955"thumbsup" Along with HH replacing any product he has with no ? & constantly improving the parts & issues during testing!

tho' not a fully encased aluminum housing...
it does have an aluminum center section for it's 3 pc. case.
and so that will help dissipate internal heat better.

It's not water proof... but is water resistant due to it's assembly design.
But it can be made to be waterproof with just a little extra effort.
