If someone gets po'd that i used part of their art in the scheme of the overall image, then i'll take it off in a heart beat. But the picture was posted publicly with no author to be found, i cropped a bunch of it out, added elements to it...i didn't even want the tree to be honest, which seems to be the only piece of art on it, i can't tell if the bomb is a picture or a drawing...
No i understand, and if the original creator of the atomic scenery comes by to my itty bitty website and don't want it up there then i'll take it off in a heart beat. But only people who go to my website are people from the rc fourms (well google says this) and i only get 10-30 visitors aday. So i doubt the author will will be browsing by anytime, and if they do there's quite abit thats been change and may not even notice.i understand your where you're coming from but people get this idea that if its on the internet its free...and its not. there's alot of places you can get stock photos for reference or to use in your art. i can link you to such places.
it doesn't matter if its a drawing or a photograph, same rules apply.
just think, you might start doing work for a company doing banners, you're getting paid for it and most of the time the work is under contract. one day you come across some of your work in anothers piece. how would you feel ?
just trying to help ya out. i dont mean to offend ya or come off as a ass.
It's a little busy with the sign, tree, mushroom cloud and fence all competing for your eye.
Personally, I'm a fan of less is more... like the RCC header. Clean, simple and easy to read.
Drop off the fake beveling on the text... it's overkill.

As for the photo, only so many people are allowed to take a photo of a atomic bomb going off  so the author probably didn't take that photo.
regardless if the author comes to your site or not doesnt make it right. as long as you dont get caught your good ?

I mean, I'm sure you have access to all kinds rc related pics here. Why not get permission for someones pictures and use it? Not sure chain link, a mushroom cloud, and a joshua tree have anything to do with overkill or rc anyway...
.
Once you alter an image more than 10% the copyright is no longer valid.
Sure the owner can still fight it but is it really worth the money it takes.
Losikid, I know money is an issue when it comes to this kinda thing. not everyone can do this stuff either.
Please for the love of god contact Neil (Freq E tag0 and ask him what he would charge to do you up a logo that wont cross the copyright crap. You might be very suprised
Honestly i have no money right now, no seriously there's only a few $'s in pp.
