For the guys who have been on this forum for many of years such as I have, they all know I am a HUGE Toyota fan...hence why most of builds are Hilux based. I have always had a love for the 1st gen Toyota pick ups. Never being able to find/own one is probably why I have always built 10th scale versions :ror:. Well as of tonight that has changed  Not only will have my vast RC collection of 1/10 Hilux's but I am now the new proud owner of Dean's/Chino63's 83 Toyota Hilux :mrgreen:. When I saw Dean purchased his new Land Cruiser I quickly PM'd him to see what he was doing with the lux. When he told me he would be parting with it I ask Dean if he could hang on to it for sometime while I tried to sell my SAS 86 4Runner I built. Dean, being the awesome dude that he is, agreed and gave me the time needed to sell my truck. After several failed buyers for my truck, I told Dean that if he had a buyer to let it go because I didnt want to waste his time and what seemed like a close dream was become a distant one . Then out of left field a dude showed up from CT and purchased my 4runner within a few short hours . I immediately called Dean and asked if he still had the truck and he did "thumbsup" We finalized the deal, got him out a certified check and booked a transporter. It was a long trip from CA to long Island NY here, 3000.2 miles to be exact and the wait was KILLING ME but tonight it finally showed!

Onto a few quick pics! More tomorrow "thumbsup""thumbsup"

I almost had him convinced to sell me the 1/10 scale version  he did include an extra tan cab and paint for me though "thumbsup" so the mini me version will be built eventually.

I totally should have had him sign the dash :ror: that would have been mint!

It's amazing that the SoCal sunshine didn't crack the dash into a bizzillion pieces.

Re: It's HERE! Chin063/1BJB 1:1 Bruiser/TF2

Boy howdy I just got a woody over that dash.....

Re: It's HERE! Chin063/1BJB 1:1 Bruiser/TF2

I see Toyota has had a longstanding "gas pedal got stuck under the floormat" problem...

Congrats, Mike!

Re: It's HERE! Chin063/1BJB 1:1 Bruiser/TF2

I miss it but I'm glad it found a good home. "thumbsup"

I know Mike will take care of it and use it as it's meant to be used. Just don't tell it the roads are covered in salt.... More reason to drive in the dirt I suppose. :ror:

Haha yeah about that...the floor mat was definitely not secured in the manner that is recommend by toyota :flipoff:

Don't worry Dean, it's getting a full undercoat and a spray in frame solution along with spray in bed liner"thumbsup" oh and I have something special planned for the paint as well once the weather brakes. It's gonna retain some of its tan while getting a special SR5 scheme ;-)

My goal is to preserve this thing to my best ability. It won't be trashed on the trail either. It'll be wheeled because that's what it was built for but it will be done carefully.

For now I am fixing all the little odds and ends, got a new dome light cover coming for it and put a new bulb in. I also ordered all new marker lights from rock auto as well. Gotta patch up a spot in the tail pipe and weld in a new hanger too. Doesn't need much, she was built very well
