Cleaning off the mud

Just a thought. What do you do to clean your rig after a good day of mudding ? What's your cleaning methods and what do you do to bring that rig of your back to the pristine shine that all want to keep ?


How about posting some pics of all mudded up?

And some pics all cleaned up ? Let's see the difference "thumbsup"

I've never had a truck rc or 1:1 that was ever kept that pristine. All my trucks either got washed when it rained or was run through water :mrgreen:

Was thinking of getting one of these...add a mixture of distilled water and simple green with a flow-thru brush.

If youre driving in mud aren't you waterproof anyway?...Why not just hose it down and if you have an air compressor blow it dry...maybe after getting the heavy stuff off use some simple green and a brush and hit it one more time to get more off...If youre not waterproof I guess remove the electronics and then clean it...I did that for many many years when racing and still do..My Honcho isn't waterproof..lol

@Johnnysplits...I used to have an air blower that had a siphon hose on it that you slid into a can of solvent or whatever and when you used air it would siphon the solvent and blow it onto the parts...I used one of those to clean many 1:1 automobile engines and parts...I think Auto detailers use them also.

There is no mud in Utah just rock. So I usually use compressed air to blow off the dust

I waited until the 'ole lady wasn't at home, then I would use the kitchen sink and the dish washing wand thingie to spray it all nice and clean. :mrgreen:

I know exactly what you're talking about because when I used to turn wrenches in my other life, we had one of those in the shop. I was just gonna get a parts washer just so I don't have to hear any shit from the wife about washing my rigs in the bathtub.

running them under the hose usually works for me with a quick scrub on all the tight fit areas with a tooth brush

Air compressor has always worked the best for me with a high pressure air nozzle if your rig isn't fully water RESISTANT. if you want your open brushed motors to last longer you can get electrical parts cleaner with the red applicator straw to totally douche out the motor. be sure to apply a small bit of oil to the bearings after any cleaning as you will lose the lube from a good cleaning. take tires off to get those bearing faces cleaned and lubed. im not sure if anyone still wraps the brushed motors in pantyhose to help keep dry debris out of the motors with fans/ports but that should help a ton.

No, some other company...found them on ebay for less money, but very good quality. I have some outerwears stuff on my baja sc and this stuff looks identical.
