After looking at everyone's build threads (great job guys!) I noticed that my TF-2 kit only came with clear lenses all the way around. Am I missing something?

Yes, you didn't paint them. I used Model Master Turn Signal Amber. Comes in a small jar. If you use it, it goes on yellow but dries amber.

Wow....
Learn something new every day....I actually bought the Hillux lens tree...they fit good except the corner lenses...had to trim those a bit

Good to know the paint works Joe...."thumbsup"

Tamiya X-26 orange and X-27 red. A bottle of each will last a lifetime.

Quoted for truth.

And remember, those turn signal lenses on the side of the grille stay clear. Took everything I had to refrain from painting them amber.:lmao:

Thanks guys "thumbsup". I feel a bit "noob-ish" when it comes to scale hard bodies, just thought I may have overlooked something. So did you paint the inside or outside of the lenses? I just want to make sure I don't booger it all up :lmao:.

I painted the inside. That way they won't be prone to having the paint scratched off. They may need a couple of coats also, mine did.

And no problem on the questions. I've been in RC since 1971 and I still learn new things about this hobby most everyday. There are a lot of guys here in this topic to help you without making you feel dumb with their response. Don't be hesitant to ask away.

Looks like I need to get more paint then... I was thinking they were colored already. Could I do extra coats so to make them less transparent? I won't have lights in there for a while and hate the look of the holes through the lenses.

Paint is cool, does the job. I, however, save every bit of colored plastic i come accross. Have a pretty good inventory of yellow, red, even blue, now. I'll use the stockers as templates, & make what i need. No paint, no scratching off. Just sharing with the class.

The tamiya lens paint is so good I know many guys who use it on their 1:1's

FAWK!!!!!!!!! I painted mine amber. Oh well...it looks better in amber anyway.

By the way, I tried to paint the headlight lenses yellow. I was getting a lot of streaks with the brush. Do you guys sand the lenses first? I didn't have much trouble with the smaller lenses but the headlight has such a large flat surface.
