So this is actually my 2nd copperhead since the first one let out a magic puff. Castle and my local hobby shop did great in getting me another the very next day.

I just built this truck and I’ve dumped ridiculous amounts of time and money into it. I don’t regret that one bit, I love building and tinkering.

The low speed control of this setup is outstanding, and it has a 6amp BEC so no need for an external one.

I like how/where you mounted the on/off switch. Just curious, but, which Traxxas vehicle is that, and what is the weight (with largest battery you normally run)?

This is a Traxxas TRX4 Sport kit. The one with no electronics. And I love the switch there, stays out of the way but I can still leave the body on and turn it on.

The weight with battery is about 7.5lbs but that’s with a huge 5000mah 3s. I have another 2200mah that will bring the weight to about 7lbs

Factory weight is 5.8lbs no battery, the SSD wheels are about .9lbs and the battery is .8lbs.

Nice!

Your experience of the ridiculous amounts of time, money and tinkering with no regret mimic mine with my sport RTR.

I’ve been very pleased with the low speed control of various HH brushless motors and a Mamba X.

My rig is also 7.5#. I am running GMade steelie wheels and small battery packs (1500-2200 mah.)

What gearing are you running? I’ve pretty much had 9/45 in since I got the rig this time last year. I just crawl so I’ve been more than happy with the setup.

Thank you!

I’m also only crawling with this rig, I have other rigs for more speed. Right now I’m running at 11/45, I’m probably going to drop it to 9/45 like you.
