Copy of my 85 4Runner trail rig, full interior with 4 bucket seats

I agree, its really going to be hard to tell this from your real rig. Stereos are awesome but very hard to incorperate into a 1.9 with interior, lights, winch etc.. I say go for it though! Definetly is a cool feature on rc's "thumbsup"

very good looking job i got the runner body from big bird as well and im doing the same copy my 1.1

Sweet, I'll be checking it out.

Thank you. the stereo amp is easy to fit on the firewall, but yea, the speakers will be tricky. Though I have lots of under the floor room. I am very amazing how much empty space this has, total full floor interior.

Man I LOVE this rig from top to bottom really 1:! looking Great Build"thumbsup"
Cool thank you:).

TOYOTA AXLE IS HERE!
Well I finally made the Axle truss to hold the upper links, though I need to change mounting for the leftupper.
Installed the high angle CVD's
Toy axle gives lots of Tie rod to pumpkin clearance so now I can make a more realistic Pitman arm and steering setup.

These look so good! Cant wait to finish the rear.

Also I got a hold of TLT wheels and Tires Thanks to (Slinky Sam) Thank you Sam! so now I can do the Tire mod that Big Bird did to make the wheel and tire more scale as a 15" rim would be. PLus the wheel offset is corrected so I can use my toyota hubs.
Man, the more I look at this the more I need Bilstein 5150 shocks :)

Also going to try and make some Rotors and calipers but weighted with tungsten so I can take a bit of wheel weight out.

Here are the true testing inagural run at Bean Hollow beach from back in August.
It was a total Epic day of 3hrs of crawling, . I used 1 Thunder Power 2100 3S battery.

Rocks for Days! Mostly sand stone, so it changes all the time.

looks like I may need to better secure the body from lifting

Finally , Axle swap is done, and look great.
Made some upper link mount truss
Steering tie Rod fits so much better now. Tons of angle

Also modified some TLT wheels, narrow and add more rubber on 1.9 tire on the inside to the smaller rim. Now it looks like a true 15" wheel with a 36" tire
Here a is pic of the real 1:1 and the rc 1.9. I was in a rush for the Fun Comp put on by Rckjeep at Camden park so clean these up and add the beadlock ring and small bolts for detail

It's looking great, just work out the bugs and get some seat time and you'll have it crawling all over.

So sweet! Im in the process of getting this exact body. Im really diggin the axle trusses. Hope u dont mind me copying this rig!

1. The new Yota axle broke in 20 minutes, well it didn't break, the pinion gear skipped over the Ring gear and mashed the teeth up
I emailed RC4WD to say the backlash is incorrect. they just sent me new gears and said they were working on another set.(not sure what that means) I bought some HPI .2mm thick 5mm OD shims at LHS and after 30 minutes with a mic and moving shims around I was able to get the gear mesh just right with full contact but still moves freely.

2. The Wheel Track is to narrow for me on the Yota axles.
I need an additional 5mm on each side. wheel extenders will not work for this little amount so I after some research I'm picking up some Associated B4/T4 CVD axle stubs to swap over to. This provides the Longer axle stud shafts length I need to get wheels sticking out as I did with my Axial axles.
I also bought some Brass hex to make my own wheel extenders.

3. To finish the wheels I need to find some metal rings to make beadlock rings and then add some 2-56 or smaller hex head screws to add the realism. The rings they have in electrical (think they are called reducers come in many sizes. I bought a bunch but the O.D is to big so need to figure a way to reduce them, or find an odd narrow washer.

4. My Holmes 35t motor arrived ! so out with the squealing brushless motor and in with the nice quiet brushed motor. The brushed motor is longer and interferes with steering horn so the whole tranny has to be moved back.

5. I'll be adding brake rotors and maybe drums to the rear in the future.

Going with yota axles gives great ground clearance and tie rod clearance, both from the ground and the axle and the steering angle is awesome.

Sucks to hear about the toyota axles. Had the same issue on my ARB trex axles a while back. I went the hillbilly route and just tossed in some washers that fit ;-)

As for the wheels maybe hit up MThead and see if he can custom cut you a set of rings. OR, get a pretty acurate circle cutter (all metal, the plastic ones suck) and cut you out some syrene ones, then drill some holes in the wheels and pick up a baggy of the stock axial 1.9 ring bolts. I have a full set if youd want to go that route. Could even make the rings for you as well. "thumbsup"

yea mt makes some cool looking rings for sure.
I would want metal rings at about 1/8 wide ring but the tricky part is the different height it has (look at my 1:1 beadlocks and you will see that the bolts are partially protected by the beveled ring.

The electrical rings I have are a good I.D. and have the bevel in them, so I need to find a simple way of cutting down the O.D.

Waiting in the mail are some MIP CVD stub axles from a B-4. the ball is 8mm and the shaft is 5mm, just like the RC4WD stubs, only these are longer. So I will swap these with the stock outer rc4wd stubs for wider track width for the front.

Ah, but what about the rear? i find it peculiar that axial shafts fit in the yota axles, so with a little trimming of the extra large rings on the axial axle these will fit and give a wider or longer Rear axle.

Hey, Does anyone know of any other axles out there that are similar to Axials? meaning they have the double flat end to go into the 3rd member and close in length.
