custom tube chassis TH

Just found this thread. I'm super impressed! I thought I had completed a tubing cage my self but yours just gave me some ideas. I was trying to figure out a way to improve the chassis and make it more like a latter frame. My wife won't be thanking you lol.

thanks guys. i ordered some of the new king sct shocks from rc4wd, but i noticed the ball wont fit into the front shock mount because they are too wide. any advice?;-)

if the balls are too wide, just use a flat blade screwdriver to spread the arm opening. That happened with my Gmade shocks. The balls have a standoff portion that is a tight fit. That or use a dremel and grind out a small relief in the arm where they go.

i used pocket70's advice and just spread the mounts open. problem solved. thanks. as for bending the tube, i used a 3/16 / 1/4 brake line bender. i think i got it from harbor freight."thumbsup"

update. ditched the cantilever because the rig was too heavy for it. happened to be just as i made the decision, the new RC4WD king sct shocks cam out. got em. they are NICE! not a single plastic part on the whole shock. made a front shock mount, and we are good to go. i should be at round 4 of the U4RC glen helen event, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. wish me luck."thumbsup"

that is a KOH front and rear independent suspension rig i'm making for a customer. 26" or travel front and rear with raised center section."thumbsup"

went to the U4RC event on saturday. had a great time. lots of great rigs, drivers, and people. wish i brought my camera. didn't have the bast of luck with my rig, but let me assure you, i will be back. hopefully with another rig.

to get into depth, i ran the first race and the rear driveshaft fell off. fixed that then my tranny was grinding on something. finished 2 laps that race. next race, my tranny was still chewing on something even though i opened it up and checked everything. got a whole lap done, took a nasty tumble down the stairs, and pulled the shock shaft out of the lower eye. that ended my day. i still stayed and watched the carnage, but it was just an experience. i really need to tune and get some heavier shoes for this rig. spent a lot of time on my lid. and get more practice. U4RC has quite a race going on there, and im hooked. i came home happy, yet disappointed. leaving me wanting more. took some pics of the aftermath with my new camera and my took pics of my new rigs.
