Cutting a motor commutator & motor tweaks

I need to sticky this thread so I don't need to dig FIVE pages to share the news that TEAM TEDROCKZ rocks it out big time. This whole set up was supplied by he, and I cannot say thank you enough because it's more fun than I expected. "thumbsup"

Pretty sure you're gonna have to drive north to get it back. :flipoff:

So far I've put seven fairly different from each other motors through some basic tests as I attempt to learn what the heck is going on over here. Voltage hold step at 3, 4, 5, 6 at ten amps constant, and 3 through 8 at 15 amps constant. I run each motor twice and print the second to look at. Couple surprises I guess, but as I was telling TEDROCKIN Steve, all these motors are tweaked a bit differently from each other so any of my testing holds no water for me so far, so I'm not sharing. :flipoff:

I will share that Br00d's Neo mag motor shut the whole system down on the second or third voltage step. That was cool.

I've got probably about four/five more motors I can add into the group.

I might share some numbers... but not names, not yet. Except that Checkpoint is interesting.

It's all good. I have a big heavy duty foam stack under the motor cradle thing to settle down the noise for the downstairs neighbor.

And, I have tables. But they all have stereo stuff on em. "thumbsup"

WHAT?? You pu$$y. Post it all up or mail them to me and I'll man up. The people gots ta know!!

Also, you're testing them wrong. This isnt 2003 where motors won't hit the 15.9 torque limit. Now see if you can figure it out from that, like someone else made me do...

All crawler motors.

It's not about manning up, it's about making sure everything is accurate. And I'm thinking it's not repeatably accurate enough yet. "thumbsup"

Post your data from one random unnamed motor. Maybe something other than the silver can...

I've never tried voltage steps.

Alright. Now tell me what amp steps to use.

Steve's a real good person to know. "thumbsup"

Highest TQ number for the second round at 15 amps using voltage steps.

After the first run, the printer tape ran out and after I changed it, it stopped printing.
