Ha ha..... Now I got your attention....:lmao:

The truth is, it won't be ground breaking stuff compared to some of the recent "out-of-the-world" builts, but I will try to implement some newer idea which I like over the last year or so.

It will be experimental and I am not sure if I will like it. Because it will use full width Wraith Axle which I always think they are a bit too wide. But you will never know until you try.

The core of the built is surrounded by the Hulksta gearbox, this thing is a work of art and utilise stock XR10 gear. I wanted to use it in my champion 2.2s but it does not seems to fit into my Ringer chassis. It need a longer skid (ringer skid is tiny) so I need a new chassis and hence a new built.

I like the Yoshi DD chassis a lot for its low CG and flat stance and I think this will be perfect for this sort of gearbox. So I will be making a new chassis similar to the DD, hope yoshi does not mind...

So stay tune, it will be slow as I need to find time for all these, but I have already ordered some parts and hopefully I can begin it soon.

Re: The Real Game Changer....

Can't go wrong with the DD...looking forward to seeing what you come up with to adapt that style to a 2.2S platform "thumbsup"

Re: The Real Game Changer....

Can we please get the term game changer blocked like ****?

Lol.....:lmao:Using the "Game Changer" was just a tongue in the cheek moment. I will change the title soon....

BTW, what are the 4 letters that get blocked?? I honestly do not follow all thread here in RCC (usually only AX-10 and Xr10), so I am not aware of all the stories.... If would be great if someone can "enlighten" me....

Awesome. Looking forward to this build thread. I am in process of getting the Hulksta's standalone GB and wraith axles. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

umm what happened? I have this idea floating in my head for some time but im just a scale kinda guy

Still collecting parts for the built. Seeing how the YTC guys putting the Hulksta trans into the Villian has given me some new idea. It will be done, I have committed to much fund into the AR60. But it will take time, I am trying to understand if the Dlux new knuckle will give me what I want, ie full width AR60 with similar track width to a AXR10 from axle and not running knuckle weight.

Ok this is what I am thinking of...

The lower plate is just long enough to "contain" the trans and a "normal" size 540 motor. The upper and lower links will be bolt onto the 4 holes with spacers to space them out a bit. The upper deck will be about 45mm higher than the lower deck and be a bit longer so I don't have to using 6" longer shock...:lmao:. There are a few holes for the shock but will finetune once prototype is cut.

There will be lightening holes on the upper deck, but that is not important ATM.

Plan to use some 3mm lexan for trial. The final version will be 1.5mm CF lower deck with 3 mm Teflon "skid" underneath and 2mm CF upper deck.

Links will be 7075 rod lower and 6061 tube upper.

so when will you be buying a blue star and start selling these to the masses? Looks great cant wait to see how this progress. keep up the great work!

I like the idea. I thought about it once but that's as far as it got.

Curious as to why you put a window in the bottom piece and not up top? The way uyou have the upper piece hourglasses so much, looks like it will have a lot of inherent flex regardless of material choice. I'd think it'd be much stiffer if the top pice had a shape that resembled your lower piece.

Cool idea, I will be keeping an eye on this. "thumbsup"

Thanks.

Nah, won't be a vendor. If I am a vendor, i will be the most complained vendor in the history of RCC. I can't even drill the hole center on the link. But thanks for the kind words.

If any vendor likes the idea, please feel free to use it.:ror:

I am not fuss about the shape of the plates at the moment, I just need to be sure the holes are at the correct position and suspension linkage and shock position work.

I think i wanted to use 2mm for top plate because the shock mounts are there without braces like twin vertical plates style. But I think you are right to make the top plate similar shape as lower with a lightening hole will give better torsional rigidity and yet remain light weight. The lower is only 1.5mm because the 3mm telfon (that is all I have at home, will source some 1.5mm) skid will kinda reinforce it.

Chris and I talked about doing something like this, but that as far as the idea went.

Very cool that you're giving it a go.

Should be an interesting build for sure.

And then...

This idea has been temporary put on shelf, as I don't have time to make a new DD style chassis.

However, I am keeping the gearbox and hopefully one day I would be able to start this project.

In the meantime, so all the good bits from Dlux are not go to waste, I have ordered a Joker Chassis from Hulksta, so I can still experience the XR-10 geared chassis/tranny, without spending too much time to make one. I hope to run this new 2.2s in a month time and hopefully make a DD style chassis in the future.
